5.1. IFEMA, una Institución responsable. Actuaciones RSC IFEMA, a responsible Institution. CSR actions
IFEMA dinamizador e impulsor de la actividad empresarial de los distintos sectores reunidos en sus convocatorias, cuenta también entre sus responsabilidades, con una permanente vocación de servicio y compromiso con las empresas. Una labor que se hace visible, entre otras actuaciones, promoviendo a lo largo del año acciones de distinta índole que aportan valor a proyectos e iniciativas profesionales, y promueven el reconocimiento al esfuerzo y la innovación empresarial, en el entorno de la actividad ferial. As an energiser and driving force for the entrepreneurial activity of the different sectors gathering at its events, IFEMA has responsibilities that include its permanent vocation for service and its commitment to companies. This work is made visible over the year through the promotion of actions that enhance professional projects and initiatives and recognise entrepreneurial endeavour and innovation in trade fair activity.
Campaigns in support of technological innovation
The initiatives championed by IFEMA in 2015 include the competition, “15 Minutes of Glory”. Held at SIMO EDUCACIÓN, the Learning Technology Exhibition and making use of the event’s social media, this supports entrepreneurship and technological innovation in the educational community. The competition offers a springboard to young entrepreneurs and companies by introducing them to the public and giving them the chance to find investors and support for their ideas. IFEMA’s technological trade fairs also promoted bilateral encounters between companies for knowledge transfer and technological cooperation. Called “Brokerage Events”, these meetings were organised in collaboration with the Madri+d Foundation and took place at SIMO EDUCACIÓN, at GENERA, the Energy and Environment International Trade Fair, and at other fairs held in 2015. Likewise, leading trade fairs like CLIMATIZACIÓN, the International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Ventilation and Refrigeration Exhibition, GENERA, The Energy and Environment International Trade Fair, PROPET, the Pet Industry Trade Fair, PUERICULTURA MADRID, the Childhood Products Trade Show, MATELEC, the Fair for the Electrical and Electronics Industry, SALÓN LOOK MADRID, the Image and Integral Aesthetics Exhibition, and EXPOÓPTICA, the International Optics and Optometry Exhibition, together with trade events like FORO DE DESARROLLO MINERO-METALÚRGICO SOSTENIBLE, the Sustainable Mining and Metallurgy Development Forum, organised a variety of platforms to promote their most innovative products and to serve as a stimulus for other companies to develop and market products that contribute to the market and to R&D. Panels of experts were responsible for choosing from the candidate products those represented a departure from those that are already on the market. Promoted by IFEMA at its fairs through Innovation Galleries and Galleries of Featured Products, the initiative is aimed at encouraging companies to keep innovating and devoting resources to R&D.
