Interview with Fernando Rodríguez, Managing Director of Cobertoldo on its participation in PISCIMAD 2024

• What technological innovations or innovative products will Cobertoldo present at PISCIMAD this year?

This year has been an exciting and challenging journey for our team and we have worked tirelessly on two projects concurrently, the new Cobertoldo APP and the new Automatic Cover.

As regards our new APP, it is designed to revolutionise the way customers interact with our products and services. With an intuitive and user-friendly interface, the APP allows users to easily access all our features. From the management of orders to the personalisation of budgets. Every aspect has been designed to provide a smooth and efficient experience.

What's more, we are proud to present our new Automatic Cover, the upshot of hard work and unwavering commitment. Long days of research and development, extensive testing and constant interaction have been a key part of this process. We faced many technical challenges, but each of them gave us the chance to learn and improve. From the design of the mechanism to the selection of high quality materials. Every aspect was looked at carefully to ensure durability and ease of use.

Our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction has guided every decision. We are excited about introducing an Automatic Cover that is not only functional and efficient, but which also improves the user experience with respect to protective covers.

• What will it mean for a company like Cobertoldo to participate in PISCIMAD? How do you think this will impact the swimming pool sector and its staging within the International Construction Week?

Participating in PISCIMAD will be a great opportunity for Cobertoldo, as it will allow us, first and foremost, to have a meeting point with our customers, in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere where we can share with them. As well as being able to connect with professionals in the pool sector and other key players in the industry. This event will afford us the opportunity to showcase our innovations, such as our Automatic Cover and APP, in a personal and close environment where great store is set by quality and technology.

Against the backdrop of the International Construction Week, participation in PISCIMAD also highlights the importance of the integration of technology in the construction of aquatic spaces. The synergy between pool construction and design can result in more sustainable and efficient projects, benefiting the whole sector.

• What are the main challenges Cobertoldo has identified in the swimming pool sector and how are you working to address them?

During our 20 years of experience in the sector, we have pinpointed several major challenges in the swimming pool sector. One of the main ones is the growing concern for safety and the increasingly stringent new regulations. We have dealt with this by developing covers that incorporate locking mechanisms and advanced security features. Thereby ensuring the protection of users and swimming pools.

Another major challenge is the need for more sustainable and efficient solutions. With this in mind, we have solar thermal covers that help to reduce heat loss and water consumption, contributing to a more ecological management of swimming pools.

What’s more, the rapid evolution of technology constitutes a constant challenge in terms of adapting our products. That's why we’re investing in research and development to integrate automated systems that improve both the functionality and experience of our pool covers.

• How do Cobertoldo solutions contribute to energy efficiency and sustainability in swimming pools?

Cobertoldo solutions make a significant contribution to energy efficiency and sustainability in swimming pools in several ways:

Heat Loss Reduction: Our covers are designed to minimise water evaporation and heat loss. By maintaining the water temperature, the need for heating is reduced, thereby saving energy.

Reduced Evaporation: Covering the pool with a solar and protective cover limits water evaporation. This not only conserves the water resource, but it also reduces the amount of chemicals needed to keep the water in optimal conditions, allowing it to be reused from one year to the next.

Reduced Use of Chemicals: By keeping the pool covered, the water is protected from pollutants and debris. This means that fewer chemicals are required for water treatment, which is beneficial both to the environment and to the health of users, also reducing the economic cost of maintenance.

Ease of maintenance: Our covers make pool maintenance easier, reducing the time and resources needed for cleaning. Less cleaning means less water and chemical consumption.

Use of Renewable Energies: Our solar thermal covers solely and exclusively deploy solar energy to heat water, thereby maximising the use of renewable energy sources.

Sustainable Materials: We are committed to using high quality and durable materials, reducing the need for frequent replacements and thereby cutting down on waste.
