Enrique Fernández: "Nice will showcase its new high-performance, intelligent and connected automation systems at SMART DOORS
Nice España will be showcasing its new Spider line of motors for sectional and tilt doors at SMART DOORS 2024, offering different power options—800 and 1,200 Nm—and Robus motors for sliding doors, available in three power levels for 400, 660 and 1,000 kg, either individually or in complete kits. Enrique Fernández Conesa, sales director of Nice Spain, explains that both ranges are adapted to the new stand-by consumption regulations that will come into force next year that contribute significantly to sustainability and energy savings.
What kind of solutions does Nice España offer, and on what does the company focus?
Our company is a company with a strong B2B focus, offering 360º solutions in residential, commercial and industrial automation, including the management of installations locally or remotely, addressing the main demands of the market, which is increasingly focused on new technologies, energy saving, management by means of voice assistants, etc. In addition, we offer an after-sales service that includes training programmes so that our installer, manufacturer and distributor clients can provide a professional response to their facilities and their clients' demands.
What innovations will the company showcase at the next SMART DOORS event, to be held at IFEMA MADRID, as part of International Construction Week?
Nice will offer end-users and professionals the latest technologies and solutions to enjoy comfort, security and energy savings through Nice Smart Home. The main innovations that we will be bringing to the fair are as follows. On the one hand, our new line of Spider motors for sectional and up-and-over doors, with various power options, 800 and 1,200 Nm, including brushless options, allows for automation even on doors with demanding size and usage requirements. On the other hand, the new Robus line of motors for sliding doors, available in three power levels for doors weighing 400, 660 and 1,000 kg, offered either individually packaged or in complete kits.
Both lines meet the new standby consumption regulations coming into force next year, significantly promoting sustainability and energy savings. On 9 May 2025, a new European regulation will establish eco-compatible design requirements for the off-mode and standby consumption of electrical and electronic household appliances, pursuant to Regulation 2023/826 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
What does this mean?
Manufacturers of door automation systems will be required to transition their systems and technologies to be more energy-efficient. This need has been one of the drivers behind the renewal of our product line showcased at SMART DOORS 2024.
What other solutions will you bring to the fair?
We are also showcasing the BiDi-WiFi interface, which allows us to connect Nice automation systems to the router and manage installations remotely, whether for user needs (such as remote door opening or gate opening, checking the automation's status, etc.) or installer/maintainer needs. With user permission, the installer can access the installation remotely to handle repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics, as well as configure settings and even store data in the cloud. This is all possible thanks to our applications, MyNice for end-users and MyNice Pro for installers and maintenance personnel.
We will also present our new MyGo remote control range, offering solutions with one-way and two-way technology, allowing users to receive feedback on the door's status (whether the open/close command has been executed, or the door's current status. Both technologies offer 2, 4 and 8-channel solutions, even in FM versions.
What kind of meetings with industry leaders does Nice expect to have during SMART DOORS 2024?
SMART DOORS is a very special event for us, as it allows us to connect with our clients not only from a technical or commercial perspective but also on a personal level. It is an honour and a pleasure to share these days with them. In the end, thematic fairs are events that bring industry players together, with all that that entails.
