Nice highlights that Spain will have three million smart homes by 2027
Spain currently has one million smart homes, double the number of 2019, and by 2027 there will be three million homes with smart home systems installed, 17% of the total, according to Statista data compiled by Nice. Nice's most prominent device in this area is Yubii Home, the gateway that connects Nice, FIBARO and elero technologies, but the company's growth is not limited exclusively to this section, as business data in other divisions such as automatic gates and automatic doors have also experienced an increase in the last financial year.
In 2023, Nice certified its growth in the Spanish market, reaffirming its relevant status in the ecosystem of home automation and solutions companies. In particular, sales of its smart home solutions grew by 19.37% compared to 2022. This figure reflects the company's ability to adapt and respond to the needs and trends of the current Spanish market. According to data provided by Statista in the latest edition of the Digital Market Outlook report, and highlighted by Nice, there are currently one million smart homes in Spain, which is double the numbers collected five years ago, in 2019. The same report predicts that by 2027, three million homes will have smart home systems installed, which would represent a reach of 17% of the country's households.
Nice's flagship device in this area is Yubii Home, the gateway that connects Nice, FIBARO and elero technologies. The product is open to integration with more than 3,000 third-party devices thanks to its compatibility with Z-Wave and Wi-Fi protocols. In this way, the home or office is interconnected and able to communicate with all smart devices. The sales results obtained in this product division clearly show that Nice is evolving in Spain to meet the needs of the sector.
Automatic gates and doors
However, Nice's growth is not limited to this section alone, as business figures in other divisions such as automatic gates and automatic doors have also increased in the last financial year. In the case of the Gate division, sales have increased by 6.08%; and in the Door division, Nice Spain recorded an increase of 2.45% compared to 2022, consolidating its position as the company's second strongest line of business in Spain.
This increase in sales not only affects Nice, but entails a multiple benefit with an impact on many levels. According to a study by IDAE2 (Institute for the Diversification and Saving of Energy), the installation of a smart home system can save consumers 80% on lighting costs and 25% on air conditioning. This not only translates into the economic well-being of Spanish citizens, but also has a very positive impact on the environment.
