Smart doors are evolving and adapting to the increasingly specific and complex needs of the industry, contributing to improving many aspects of their operation, such as safety, productivity and energy savings, according to Adrián Díaz García, Head of Control and Marketing with Gruman SL.

Manual doors in the industry are being left behind and automatic doors are constantly gaining ground. Technological progress is leading to a diversity of models, offering multiple opening and automation methods, linked to a wide array of applications. This all greatly helps and improves issues such as traffic between different areas or sectioning areas off quickly and easily, with the possibility to even program them for specific behaviours depending on each case and requirement.

According to Adrián Díaz García, Head of Control and Marketing at Gruman SL, automatic doors are constantly evolving, with the increasingly specific and complex requirements, and they can be adapted to any environment or use that is necessary. “Thanks to them, we can notably improve many aspects of our industry, such as safety, productivity and energy savings”.

Therefore, when it comes to choosing equipment, Díaz advises to check “not only on the look, but also on matters such as location, the use it will have or the type of user”. And he warns that “if we are guided only by appearances, we may choose equipment that does not perfectly suit its location and could lead to headaches over the long-term”.

Safe systems

Automatic doors are adapting to the safety requirements of the most demanding industries, offering a high standard in quality and safety. “Thanks to this evolution, they have increasingly complex security systems, that make our doors 100% safe, both in their use and in their handling”. An example of this is the equipment that has a central automation managed by a robot, achieving “a perfect hierarchy of access, avoiding human error”.
