The CS Fima Roller Shutter Reduces Noise by 80%
Who said a roller shutter has to be noisy? It may seem like a provocative question, but it’s actually a deeply-rooted stereotype in the history of the Italian and global roller shutter industry. And it’s the question that led CS Fima to invest in a unique product capable of revolutionising the entire sector.
CS Fima, a Florentine company with more than 50 years of experience in accessories and springs for roller shutters, coil cutting, steel and aluminium strips and sheets, decided to invest in a unique product that has changed some stereotypes in the sector. People have always associated roller shutters with a cumbersome, noisy sound, as unpleasant as inevitable when leaving the house to start the day at the office, in the village shop or in the shopping centre. A desire to change how people see these products became increasingly intrusive at the CS Fima research office.
Time, technical know-how and investments led to the birth of FimaSilence, the first silent roller shutter capable of reducing noise by 80% compared to traditional roller shutters on the market. “Winning intuition", as defined by Luca Del Fante, CS Fima collaborator and expert in the steel sector and its most innovative applications, led to these roller shutters which are capable of "combining the certainty of solving the acoustic problem with the recognition of the innovative professionalism of the shutter installers so all the talk is finally positive and not simply focused on the price.”
Less noise pollution
FimaSilence is now a patented technology certified by Istituto Giordano S.p.A. Two steel sheets are coupled by means of a double-sided polymer adhesive, which allows for a significant and substantial reduction of noise pollution.
"One of the most difficult aspects of introducing FimaSilence was getting customers to pay attention and listen. Having achieved this, the customers themselves are now actually the ones showing interest in finding out more, quickly recognising the advantages, innovation and quality of the product," explains a FimaSilence distributor. This is yet another sign of just how crucial the link between distributors and end consumers is.
