Chichen Itza, the second most visited archaeological site in Mexico, needed a suitable access management system and has found it, thanks to Axess installations. A total of 8 Axess Ticket Kiosk 600 let visitors buy and print tickets or pay for a parking ticket 24 hours a day. The Axess Webstore also offers operators an online ticketing solution fully integrated into the existing website.

A set of 25 high-performance Axess Smart POS systems ensures a smooth process for visitors wishing to purchase their tickets on site. In addition to the fast issuing of tickets, the system is characterised by the secure handling of payments, and the printing of cash reports, sales receipts and information, which makes administration much easier.

At the entrance, 14 AX500 Smart Gates NG Turnstile and 10 AX500 Smart Gates NG Flap ADA will ensure quick and contactless access to the ruins. The AX500 Smart Gates NG uses a sensor to recognise when a visitor with a valid ticket approaches and triggers the opening of the barrier. This allows visitors to simply walk through the gate without touching the turnstile. The ADA version of the ADA version of the AX500 Smart Gate NG Flap is particularly suitable for wide entrances, such as those required for prams or wheelchair users, thanks to the extra-long swivel arms. Integrated photoelectric motion sensors also ensure that small objects, such as umbrellas or bags, are recognised and can pass through.

Flexibility

Twelve Axess HANDHELDS allow flexible ticket checking anytime, anywhere. These handy devices can also be used as mobile cash registers. They are robust and weatherproof, and the high-quality, daylight-compatible colour touch screen provides a comfortable working environment for the staff team. Equally important in this project was the integration of car park management. Thus, Axess Parking is used at Chichén Itzá and can be operated and managed from the POS system.
