How automatic doors are contributing to a sustainable urban future
Cities represent 70% of total energy consumption and experts say this figure will continue to rise in the future. And according to United Nations data, 7 in 10 people will be living in city centres in 2050. In this context, the contribution of automatic doors to improving energy efficiency and savings is growing, as the heads of New Gate and Dooralum have noticed.
In addition to quick and easy access to homes and shops, the most important aspect of automatic doors these days is their energy savings, points out Antolín García Hernández, General Manager of New Gate, S. L. “Being able to quickly open and close doors automatically means we can significantly save on gas and electricity bills. This factor in particular was fundamental to thousands of doors being changed all over Spain On the other hand, the expert said that “over time, these doors have been adapted to all economies. Taking advantage of government aid, they have been installed at a very high level, which is also increasing.”
Programmed closing and opening
Pablo Fidalgo Canal, Manager of Dooralum, also noted that door automation helps energy saving with programmed closing and opening, while giving greater control over the doors with entry permission, facilitating access and remote opening, managing information according use for subsequent maintenance etc.
