Pitagone guaranteed safety at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II
Pitagone, European Leader in mobile solutions against terrorism with suicide vehicles, guaranteed safety at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. Pitagone is a product from Target Technologia, a company which took part in the last edition of SICUR.
In collaboration with the London Metropolitan Police, the security system for the funeral of the Queen of England included more than 10,000 agents, 1,500 members of the military and 142 members of the Royal Marines. In addition, the street drainage system and rubbish containers were searched and sealed on a daily basis. In the most sensitive locations, snipers, trained dogs, and mounted police on horseback were assigned. To guarantee safety against possible suicide vehicles, the event of the Queen’s funeral also used Pitagone barriers in several strategic locations.
Pitagone mobile barriers, manufactured and certified in Europe, can stop 7.5 to 18 tonne vehicles travelling at 48 km/h, 12 tonne trucks travelling at 42 km/h in frontal, partial and side impact and a 4×4 vehicle at 64 km/h in frontal impact. They are also a rather flexible solution, as they can be rapidly set up by just one person without tools.
