SICUR 2024 reaffirms its ability to attract large numbers, bringing together more than 46,000 professionals from 80 countries.
SICUR 2024 closes with 654 exhibitors and brings together 2,300 professionals in its sessions
The International Security Exhibition, SICUR 2024 organised by IFEMA MADRID from 27 February to 1 March brought together over 46,000 integrated security professionals.
In its 24th edition, the event offered a comprehensive array of 654 exhibitors in four halls focusing on Occupational and Fire and Emergency Safety and Security with an engaging agenda of specialised conferences in FORO SICUR, SICUR CYBER and EXO CORNER, the biggest new feature of this year, which are key spaces for the exchange of knowledge and best practices.
SICUR 2024 draws to a close after a successful event and reaffirms its status of a leading security trade fair after welcoming more than 46,000 professionals, representing the entire value chain of the integrated security sector, from technical regulation to distribution, engineering, installation, maintenance, security professionals, members of the security forces and first-responders as well as numerous representatives of companies in the main client sectors.
The growing international dimension to the fair was reflected in the participation of 24.8% of overseas exhibitors from 31 countries, as well as in the attendance of professionals from 80 countries, accounting for 9.6% of the total number of visitors. In terms of countries, Portugal in particular stood out with a significant presence at this very Iberian fair, as well as Italy, France, United Kingdom and the Latin American countries, for which SICUR is the most important trade fair event in Europe.
SICUR 2024: innovation and content at the service of integrated security
SICUR 2024 offered a 360° vision of integrated security with a marked technological and innovative character throughout the trade show, where visitors were able to witness live demonstrations and the presentation of the most innovative products, reflecting the importance of the sector's investment in R&D&I. It’s certainly worth drawing attention to the 26 solutions selected in the Innovation Gallery as well as the prominent role for exoskeletons, which, due to their growing importance in occupational safety, were afforded their own section under the name of EXO CORNER, in collaboration with the Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia (IBV).
Once again, the International Security Exhibition also brought together representatives from Security Forces and Emergencies and Civil Protection Bodies. The National Police Force, Guardia Civil, Military Emergency Unit (UME), Catalan and Basque Regional Police Forces (Mossos d’Esquadra and Ertzaintza respectively), the Madrid Regional Security and 112 Emergency Agency and Municipal Police Force of Madrid, SAMUR Civil Defence and Madrid City Council Fire Brigade organised activities, workshops and demonstrations at their stands, emphasising their commitment to security and the companies with whom they share an ecosystem.
In addition to this exhibition of associations and companies presenting their security services and solutions, during the four days of the fair, meetings, debates and presentations were held in different areas attended by around 2,300 people. FORO SICUR highlighted the importance of sustainability in the fight against fires, the importance of security in the management of cultural heritage, celebrated 43 years of AES, presented the 3rd Report on women in public and private security, presented the new UME drone unit called UDRUME and reflected on the 30th anniversary of the Law on Occupational Risk Prevention, among an agenda full of strictly topical sector-specific events.
At SICUR CYBER, experts addressed the cybersecurity challenges and impacts on physical security systems, analysed the regulatory framework related to private security and highlighted the importance of access control in cybersecurity plans, among other aspects.
At the EXO CORNER Speaker's Corner, experts showed how exoskeletons improve safety in the workplace and how these devices can be introduced in companies, facilitating the work of professionals, reducing exertion and preventing various muscular injuries.
ESS+ powered by SICUR, our Colombian sister event, which runs from 21 to 23 August and celebrates its 30th anniversary at the Corferias exhibition centre in Bogota, was also present at SICUR. For the second consecutive edition IFEMA MADRID has provided support in the form of promotion and international marketing by providing its know-how.
Finally, for the second consecutive year, the fair will also be available online at SICUR LiveConnect, which will be in operation until 27 March. This platform makes it possible to hybridise the event and digitally complement the face-to-face participation of companies and professionals, as well as extending the time and geographical framework of the event.
