SICUR START UPS, a new platform to support entrepreneurs

The upcoming edition of SICUR, the International Security Exhibition organised by IFEMA at Feria de Madrid from the 25 to 28 February 2020, is preparing a new section aimed at entrepreneurs. The section is SICUR START UPS, a platform that will comprise projects and recently-created companies developing innovations that are widely applicable in the security field.
The purpose of this new space is to highlight and support these corporate projects and new companies, who can register at https://forms.gle/9izSB7YytGKyeT8N7
Those who are chosen to participate in this area will benefit from the meeting point provided by SICUR to generate and meet with professional contacts and they will have a high degree of visibility in the trade fair’s communication campaign.
Specifically, the trade fair will provide them with the collective stand SICUR START UPS, located in the SICUR halls, so that they can establish contacts and hold meetings during the trade fair. This stand will comprise a lounge area with several tables for holding meetings, a reception service and free wi-fi access. There will also be stands that are set aside and identified for the various organisations who may use them at their convenience, either on and off or permanently throughout the entire fair.
The trade fair will provide information on the list of participants in SICUR START UPS, on the existence of this meeting point and on the possibility of holding meetings there, prior appointment between the interested parties.
Those projects and new companies that are part of SICUR START UPS will also receive special attention and will obtain a high level of visibility and notoriety in the SICUR communication campaign, through press releases, newsletters, social media, website and visitor guide, among other tools aimed both for the media and for the professional world, and in general for the comprehensive security sector.
The projects and new companies that meet the following conditions may participate in SICUR START UPS:
• If the company is already incorporated, it must have been after the 1st January 2018. Corporate projects without an incorporated company may participate.
• If the company is already operating, it must have invoiced less than €50,000 from the time it began.
The evaluation criteria will be the degree of technological innovation; the degree of novelty for the security sector; the potential to be applied to and impact the security industry; the potential for internationalisation and the project scalability.
