Prosegur is incorporating robotics into its security devices. To that end, the company’s Innovation Department is working on in-house developments to ensure that the new hardware is properly integrated and becomes a very useful tool. One example is the intelligent robotic dog recently deployed at the Mutua Madrid Open.

Prosegur has incorporated robotics into its smart security. The most recent edition of the Madrid Mutua Open was the first major sporting event at which the security company deployed this device, which is integrated with the rest of the security measures. The security plan which Prosegur and the Mutua Madrid Open presented for the tournament, held from the 26th of April to the 8th of May at the Caja Mágica tennis complex in Madrid, incorporated for the first time a robotic dog to undertake security tasks, thereby contributing to the aim of improving the security of the almost 300,000 people who attended the event.

There was a team of over 200 people dedicated to the security of the tournament, which was organised around three security rings, from the outer perimeter to the interior. This year, Prosegur implemented technological advances of the latest generation, one of the main ones being the incorporation of the smart robotic dog which the security company named ‘Yellow’.

Artificial Intelligence

To ensure that it was seamlessly integrated into the surveillance tasks, Prosegur equipped Yellow with artificial intelligence by means of its GenzAI platform, which makes it possible to communicate any risk situation to Prosegur’s Security Operations Centre (SOC), using 5G technology.

Thanks to GenzAI, Yellow incorporates important capabilities in areas such as video analytics. Artificial intelligence enables it to detect suspicious items, recognise them and generate an alert to the SOC. It can incorporate a great variety of sensors which permit the gathering of data about its surroundings, from the temperature (fire detection) to gases or any other type of sensor. Yellow also permits intercommunication between the SOC and any person who approaches. Those capabilities are modulable and adaptable, depending on the security device in which they are going to be used.
