Experts Discuss Cybercrime During the Pandemic, at SICUR MUNDO HACKER DAY HACKER DAY
The online event in April was supported by Spain’s National Cryptology Centre and brought together more than two thousand international cybersecurity and hacking experts to analyse the impact of the cybercrime industry during the pandemic.
SICUR is the major fair for the international integrated security sector, organised by IFEMA MADRID. SICUR and Mundo Hacker (Hacker World) joined forces for Spain’s biggest professional cybersecurity sector meeting for the second consecutive year. Sicur Mundo Hacker Day 2021 was online-only and took place on 22nd and 23rd April. This year’s event had a more international scope than previous editions. It brought together more than two thousand cybersecurity and hacking experts to analyse the impact of the cybercrime industry during the pandemic.
At Sicur Mundo Hacker Day 2021, experts from around the world discussed the growth in cybercrime during the pandemic and the sophistication of attacks. They also reviewed the major security breaches and data leaks detected in recent months. The presentations also addressed the new trends and security challenges companies face due to teleworking and other growing cyber threats, such as those looming over the pharmaceutical and health sector, now highly exposed to cybercrime attacks.
The event took place on a 3D platform specially designed for the event but kept to its usual structure of presentations by leading international speakers, as well as twenty seminars, panel discussions and workshops. In addition, there was a networking area for participants to interact with the speakers and companies in the sector.
Main Themes
Some of the main topics were: “The Great Digital Swindle,” “Data Breaches During the Pandemic,” “Is Artificial Intelligence Taking Over Social Networks?”, “How to Track Potential Malware Victims,” “What Security Risks Do We Face in the New Digital Workspace?”, “What’s The Future of Digital Assets: NFT in Art Collecting and Digital Assets,” “Automating Criminal Profiling,” and “In Search of the Lost Ethical Hacker.”
The second day was dedicated to training and talent search, with guidance for young people looking for their first job in the cybersecurity field.
