Hikvision has launched a smart solution that combines the security of an AX-PRO alarm system with a metal structure anchored to the wall. It is designed to detect any attempt at intrusion and to delay it long enough to notify the authorities.

Hikvision, a leading provider of AIoT solutions and Big Data services, presented its Smart Door, a security system designed against squatters trying to move into a property, that combines the technology of a family of AX-PRO alarms for homes and small business  with a blow-resistant metal structure anchored to the wall.

Hikvision offers a comprehensive solution against squatters, an increasingly common problem recently, especially suited to banks or investment funds that own large numbers of apartments or buildings that are empty, waiting to be put up for sale or for rent.

Three pillars of safety

The new Smart Door, as explained by Alfonso Lorenzo, Business Development Manager with Hikvision, “is unique on the market, because it prevents an attempt at squatting long enough to notify the authorities and for them to take action, as well as telling the difference between an actual break-in and a false alarm”. This is done based on three pillars: it delays, detects and video-verifies.

On the first point, it delays a squatter from entering thanks to the metal structure anchored to the wall, built with a galvanised or lacquered steel plate, with a three-point lock. Its resistance withstands continuous blows and affords enough time for the system to notify the authorities. The impact sensor detects that the door is being handled via its inertial sensor (that combines the detection of impact and vibrations) and certifies that there is a non-authorised attempt to access.

The third point is the hidden camera that is activated upon intrusion, records movement in front of the door and sends these pictures to the Alarm Centre so that they can verify the attempted intrusion. The camera’s high sensitivity also provides a clear image of what is happening at the door, even under low light conditions. Thus, remote management through Hik-Connect reduces false alarms, because the owner can see on their device whether there is actually an attempt to access the property.

It also has a battery system that enables it to work even in empty homes that do not have electricity, where security is even more necessary. It comes with batteries that guarantee operation for over 5 years. The AX-PRO centre also has a battery that enables the system to operate as a whole for over 10 months, continuously.
