Having noticed the significant increase in repeated fires in waste treatment centres over the past years, CEPREVEN decided to create a working committee to tackle this problem and help companies, designers and installation and maintenance technicians improve their facilities to protect them from fire hazards.

The “C.T. sobre Protección Contra Incendios en Centros de Tratamiento de Residuos” (Working committee on protecting against fires in waste treatment centres) was established on 27 September. It is made up of technicians from CEPREVEN partner business and risk experts will be invited to participate and share their knowledge.

Their objective is to draw up a Technical Document, “Especificaciones para la Protección contra Incendios en Centros de Tratamiento de Residuos” (Specifications for protecting against fires in waste treatment centres) to help improve the quality and efficiency of fire safety equipment and find a solution for every problem that may arise in this sector. The initiative was very well received by those who work in the field.
