Increasingly more owners want to increase the security at their second homes and country homes, that are especially vulnerable to theft, vandalism and squatters. To this end By Demes presented a new battery-operated alarm with an independent alarm centre. By Demes Group's Head of SAT in Madrid, Diego Moreno explains his company’s strategy.

Diego Moreno, Head of SAT Madrid for By Demes Group, pointed out how “in recent years we focused most of our work and resources on protecting first residences, because this is where we usually keep our most cherished possessions”. “At By Demes we have highlighted one of the market’s most comprehensive solutions, the VESTA alarm system, by Climax”.

However, “this trend is now changing and we now are more interested in also protecting second homes, because this type of home is especially vulnerable to theft and vandalism, as well as more serious situations, such as squatters. This is currently the situation that most concerns owners”.

VESTA by Climax offers a wide range of inside and outside detectors, as well as integrated communication by GPRS, because second homes usually do not have landlines. Moreno said that “our VESTA system also offers a long-lasting battery-operated option, that does not require electricity or telephone connections, a great option both for vacant homes and for buildings that are empty or under construction. It can also be used for mobile second homes, such as yachts and caravans”.
