The Spanish Association of Security Companies (AES) renewed its board of directors, with the appointment of the new president, Iñigo Ugalde Blanco, commercial director of Baussa Industrias de Seguridad. Antonio Escamilla Recio was elected as vice-president; Julio Pérez Carreño as secretary; and Antonio Cendán Lasheras as treasurer. The new management team has an extensive background in the security industry.

In addition to their substantial experience in companies in the security industry, the new management team has extensive knowledge of the Association, in which they have been working in different capacities in recent years. The new president, Iñigo Ugalde, commercial director of Baussa Industrias de Seguridad, a company he joined in 1994, began his tenure on the AES board in September 2010. In June 2011 he was elected treasurer of the Association and as of February 2018 he has been the coordinator of the physical security area, positions he has held until his new appointment.

He has been the coordinator of Working Group 3 of the Technical Committee for Standardisation 108 since June 2016 and has been a member of AENOR's Technical Committee for Certification 055 since it was set up in 2005. Since March 2007 he has also been the Spanish representative on the European Committee for Standardisation CEN TC263 WG3.

The vice-president, Antonio Escamilla, has again been re-elected to this position and is also the coordinator of the standardisation work area, as well as chairman of Sub Committee 79 of UNE's Technical Committee for Standardisation 108 (physical and electronic security, protection and alarm systems). He is also the director for Southern Europe and Africa of the communications business unit of Bosch Service Solutions, as well as country business director for North Africa.

Julio Pérez, operations director of Eulen Seguridad, has once again been re-elected as secretary of the Association and will continue as coordinator of the electronic security area, a task he has carried out in recent years. Antonio Cendán, financial director of Adi Global with extensive experience in the industry, will serve as Treasurer of the Association.

According to the Association, this is "a management team with a great track record and experience in our industry that will undoubtedly continue to promote AES, in the wake of its previous presidents and now honorary presidents, Antonio Ávila and Antonio Pérez, always with the aim of maintaining it as a benchmark for the Private Security Industry, a role it has been playing for the last 42 years."
