SICUR 2024 has announced the creation of the EXO CORNER space.
This new section has been organised by IFEMA MADRID in collaboration with SICUR and the Instituto de Biomecánica (IBV) from 27 February to 1 March 2024.
SICUR 2024 has announced the creation of EXO CORNER, a new section developed in collaboration with the Instituto de Biomecánica (IBV), a national research centre that specialises in exoskeletons. This section will discuss the emergence of exoskeletons in the occupational health and safety industry and their ability to reduce the physical strain on workers during certain tasks.
From 27 February to 1 March, the latest exoskeletons from manufacturers and distributors, as well as the latest studies and innovations in this field, and services for assessing the impact of incorporating these devices will be showcased at IFEMA MADRID.
The entities confirmed as participants in EXO CORNER, located in connection core 6-8, and exclusively exhibiting these solutions are the Instituto de Biomecánica (IBV) and the following companies: Biosafety – Tecnologías de Automatización, Ergosante – Hapo, Gogoa – Cyber Human Systems and Healthy Technical Suits.
In this new section, along with the stands, experts will give demonstrations and short talks addressing the challenges and opportunities related to the introduction of exoskeletons in occupational health and safety. These devices are part of specialised equipment for military, police, emergency response applications, among others. The talks will also cover the latest developments in these devices. Exoskeletons can enhance comfort and alleviate muscular discomfort. A variety of commercially available models cater to different joints and types of work.
Furthermore, as an illustration of the increasing implementation of exoskeletons for safety purposes, companies like ITURRI, Panter, and Prolians Metalco will showcase passive exoskeletons for the lumbar, shoulder, neck, or prolonged standing in Pavilion 6. They will also present innovative methodologies for measuring ergonomic risk through motion capture.
SICUR 2024 will exhibit innovations in the security sector across four main areas.
Companies and organisations will present their latest technological developments and innovations in the four main areas that SICUR is structured around. The Security section will exhibit advancements in electronic and physical security, as well as security services for the protection of goods and people. The Fire and Emergency Safety section will present all products and solutions for passive and active fire protection. The Occupational Safety section will feature the latest in occupational risk prevention, personal protective equipment, and new occupational health proposals. Finally, the Cybersecurity section will showcase solutions and tools for the protection of information, systems, and data under the umbrella of SICUR CYBER, organised in collaboration with the magazines RED Seguridad and Seguritecnia.
In addition to the commercial offer, the FORO SICUR is a key focus due to its potential as a knowledge reference point. It will address some of the most topical issues related to integrated security.
Moreover, the INNOVATION GALLERY will showcase the latest research trends and emerging technologies. In 2024, a jury will select 26 proposals, including seven related to Fire and Emergency Safety, seven related to Security, and twelve related to Occupational Safety.
IFEMA MADRID will host SICUR from 27 February to 1 March 2024. SICUR is held every two years and for the second consecutive event year, it will be hybridised through SICUR LIVEConnect. This platform will allow virtual connections, information exchange, meetings, and display of the sector's products and services.
