IFEMA MADRID triumphs again at the World MICE Awards as Europe's Best Convention Centre
Madrid also receives the award for Europe’s Best MICE Destination.
This is the third time it has recognised the excellence of the institution and its venues for European business tourism
IFEMA MADRID has once again earned the title of the Best Convention Centre in Europe and Spain at the World MICE Awards, one of the most prestigious international awards for MICE tourism, which recognises the excellence of operators and exhibition and convention venues around the world. The awards were handed out at the Ritz-Carlton in Amman, Jordan, yesterday.
The winner is chosen based on the votes of MICE professionals and media around the world. Since its launch in 2020, the World MICE Awards have helped to raise standards within the MICE sector, rewarding leading organisations in their field in all countries. These awards replicate the already recognised World Travel Awards, which have been drawing attention to excellence in travel and tourism since 1994.
"This recognition reinforces IFEMA MADRID's effort to lead business tourism internationally, while validating its business strategy and consolidating its position as an operator and as a venue for large congresses and events, thanks to its top-level facilities, as well as infrastructures and services that have enabled it to compete in the international MICE market with guarantees,” said José Vicente de los Mozos, president of the IFEMA MADRID Executive Committee.
Supported by new lines of business it has been developing in recent years, MICE activity in the organisation and production of important international fairs and congresses remains IFEMA MADRID’s the core business. The activity has become consolidated throughout more than 40 years of history, during which it has hosted momentous events such as the United Nations Climate Summit COP25, the NATO Summit 2022, and the Assembly of the IPU Inter-Parliamentary Union 2021, as well as dozens of major specialist congresses, professional and medical associations from all over the world.
