IFEMA MADRID will held Heart Failure Congress in 2022
The Heart Failure Association (HFA) of the European Society of Cardiology – which works to improve quality of life and longevity through better prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart failure – will hold its next annual congress in IFEMA MADRID.
This announcement comes a few months after the ESC selected the Institution as host venue for its global congress for 2025, confirming the attractiveness of IFEMA MADRID and Madrid as a host city for large high-level medical congresses.
The HFA comprises more than 10,000 members, and past Heart Failure congresses have hosted 5,500 to 6,000 delegates at their in-person editions. The programmes have featured up to 300 faculty, with around 90 sessions, 2,000 abstracts and clinical cases submissions, and more than 100 countries represented. The 2021 edition took place online (29th June – 1st July), with an increased attendance of 8,100.
IFEMA MADRID welcomes this event after successfully hosting two congresses for related cardiology sub-specialty associations of the ESC in recent years: EHRA 2011 (European Heart Rhythm Association) and EuroEcho 2009 (European Association for Cardiovascular Imaging). In addition, the largest global event in cardiology will be arriving at IFEMA MADRID in 2025 with a significant deployment of media: ESC Congress 2025 will occupy practically the whole of IFEMA MADRID, spread over 10 halls, as well as the North Convention Centre and meeting rooms throughout the entire complex.
Beyond education of medical specialists, the HFA and the ESC – whose mission is to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease – also promote patient awareness. In this respect, the HFA website for heart-failure patients and their caregivers, heartfailurematters.org, features educational content in a variety of formats, including easy-to-understand, captivating animations explaining heart failure and how it can be managed.
