The event has the support of the sector’s four Portuguese associations: ANECRA, ARAN, ACAP and AFIA

MOTORTEC 2025, the leading trade fair for the automotive industry and the aftermarket in Southern Europe, is scheduled to take place from 23 to 26 April, organised by IFEMA MADRID. The event will receive support from the four Portuguese sector associations: the Portuguese Automobile Association, ACAP; the Association of Manufacturers for the Automotive Industry, AFIA; the National Association of Automotive Trade and Repair Companies, ANECRA; and the National Association of the Automotive Industry, ARAN.

This backing will undoubtedly encourage an even greater Portuguese presence at MOTORTEC, with the Portuguese market being one of the most important at the event. Forecasts indicate that the participation of Portuguese companies will grow by 25% in 2025 compared to the 2022 edition, and by 5% in terms of exhibition space. The exhibition area will also account for 18% of the total international floor space at MOTORTEC 2025. In addition, there will be a significant Portuguese presence in the international buyers' programme being organised for the show.

The Portuguese Automobile Association (ACAP), has been representing the entire Portuguese automobile sector for more than 100 years. Its stated mission is threefold: firstly, to promote the sector’s sustainable development; secondly, to defend the interests of its member companies; and thirdly, to contribute to the innovation and the automotive sector’s growth in Portugal. ACAP serves as a trusted intermediary between its members and various public and private entities and is recognised for its active role in supporting businesses and strengthening the national economy.

One of the sectors represented by ACAP is the automotive aftermarket, which includes companies operating in manufacturing, distribution and retailing of parts and accessories, as well as in the provision of vehicle maintenance and repair services. It also represents tyre manufacturers, distributors and retailers. These companies are integrated in the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Division (DPAI/ACAP), which plays a strategic role in defending their interests.

The Association of Manufacturers for the Automotive Industry (AFIA) was established in 1966 with the purpose of representing the automotive industry’s interests. The association collects and disseminates sectoral information and statistical data, organises meetings to strengthen relations between entities in the sector, and promotes competitiveness, exports and internationalisation of associated companies. Furthermore, the association encourages actions by potential buyers to develop national suppliers and provides support for the establishment of foreign investors in Portugal.

The National Association of Automotive Trade and Repair Companies (ANECRA), the largest and oldest association in the automotive sector in Portugal, with more than 3,700 associated companies and a century of history, participates in MOTORTEC as a sign of its commitment to the sector’s development.

ANECRA's Secretary General, Roberto Gaspar, emphasises: “MOTORTEC is not just a trade fair; it is an extraordinary opportunity for our members. This event offers direct contact with the latest innovations, the main market players and a privileged space for networking, which is essential to strengthen the companies’ competitiveness”.

The National Association of the Automotive Sector (ARAN) is a non-profit public utility institution that has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the automotive sector since its inception in 1940. The association's primary objectives are to promote, defend and support the legitimate interests of its members, and to foster a spirit of solidarity and mutual support among its constituents.

ARAN is the most representative association in the various areas that make up the sector, with a national scope. It is based in Porto. This approach is rooted in values such as credibility, partner orientation, in-depth sector knowledge, ethics and dynamism.

Rodrigo Ferreira da Silva, Chairman of the Board of ARAN, provided commentary on the collaboration with MOTORTEC as follows: “In 2025, MOTORTEC will undoubtedly be the year’s highlight for professionals in the automotive aftermarket. Getting to know the latest developments, strengthening networks... these will undoubtedly be very profitable days”.
