Meat Attraction 2025 presents itself to the meat sector in Murcia as a key tool for internationalisation
The presentation at SEPOR, one of the most important livestock fairs in Spain, underlines the importance of Lorca and the Region of Murcia for the meat industry.
Meat Attraction is taking place at IFEMA Madrid from 25 to 27 February 2025 and will bring together the main players in the meat industry to promote innovation, commercial development and the global projection of the sector.
Meat Attraction 2025 is presented as a reference fair for the international meat sector at the Livestock, Industrial and Agri-food Fair of Lorca (SEPOR), one of the country’s leading livestock fairs, recognised for its focus on pig production and its role in the meat industry. This presentation takes place within the framework of the strategic decision to strengthen the connection between two of the most important events in the livestock and meat sector in Spain, with Lorca, and the Region of Murcia in general, being a crucial setting for the presentation of an international event such as Meat Attraction.
The presentation was opened by Sara Rubira, Regional Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries in the Region of Murcia, who recalled that "between January and September this year, the Region of Murcia registered a 15% increase in the value of exports of livestock products compared to the same period in 2023, exceeding 500 million euros". These figures, according to the Regional Minister, "place Murcia as the leading region in live animal exports, representing almost 30% of the national total". Murcia is also the sixth province in terms of meat exports and the second autonomous community in terms of sausage and tinned meat exports.
For her part, María José Sánchez, director of Meat Attraction, highlighted the importance of the collaboration with SEPOR, "an event with a trajectory of more than 50 years, and which brings together the key players in the pig and livestock industry. This alliance strengthens the industrial and commercial fabric, fostering synergies between the different links in the production chain, from livestock farming to the final distribution of meat products".
During the event, emphasis was also placed on the commitment of Meat Attraction to promoting technological innovation, the development of new products and the sustainability challenges facing the meat sector. This approach is shared with SEPOR, which focuses on new technologies applied to pig farming, production efficiency and animal welfare.
Similarly, the presentation also addressed the fundamental role of Meat Attraction as a key tool for the internationalisation of the meat industry, in particular the pork sector, which represents one of the most important economic engines of Spain’s food industry.
Strategic importance of Meat Attraction
The 6th edition of Meat Attraction, being held at the IFEMA Madrid trade fair centre from 25 to 27 February 2025, offers a unique opportunity for livestock and meat companies to showcase their products, technological innovations and services to an international audience. This international event has established itself as an unmissable event for meat production and distribution companies, especially in the pork sector, with a clear projection towards internationalisation and the opening of new markets.
During the 2023 edition, when Meat Attraction announced its biennial celebration, it attracted around 14,000 participants, 300 exhibitors and international representation from 66 countries, far exceeding the figures of 2022, which was still marked by restrictions due to the pandemic, and the forecasts for 2025 are optimistic.
Meat Attraction, organised by IFEMA MADRID and ANICE, has the support of the interprofessional organisations of the meat value chain, INTERPORC, PROVACUNO, INTEROVIC, INTERCUN, ASICI and AVIANZA, as well as the most representative sectoral associations, such as ANAFRIC and AGEMCEX.
