The International Meat Industry Trade Fair, a unique and specialised event for the industry, will open its doors for this new edition with the participation of around 300 direct exhibitors, brands and companies represented.
Organised by IFEMA MADRID and ANICE, Meat Attraction is projected as a fundamental instrument for the internationalisation of the industry, and the tool to position Spain and its meat industries as one of the main international hubs for the commercialisation of meat products.
In just five years, the show has established itself as the largest business platform and the only monographic trade fair dedicated to Spain's fourth largest industrial sector, with a turnover of 31,727 million euros, 28.5% of the entire Spanish food industry. Putting this dimension in context with the Spanish industry as a whole, this turnover represents 2.55% of the total Spanish GDP, 17.22% of the GDP of the industrial branch and 4.66% of the total turnover of all Spanish industry.
Once again, the Fair will feature the Product area: meats, meat by-products, IbéricoLand -a monographic exhibition space for the Iberian meat products industry-; meats and by-products with PDO, PGI, TSG, MG; Halal and Kosher quality marks. As a novelty, the Beef Place area has been incorporated, which, led by Provacuno, will bring together beef and veal companies. In addition to all this, the Related Industry Area plays an important role, which is fundamental for the development of the industry and its competitiveness.
After the good results of last year, Meat Attraction, with the collaboration of Educarne, once again incorporates The Butcher's Shop, the exhibition area for solutions and novelties at the service of specialised butchers and charcutiers, which also brings together innovation and activities to give visibility and prestige to the profession and to contribute to the evolution of professionals.
This space will host different initiatives such as The butcher's shop of the future as a reflection of the establishment of the near future, in terms of design, management, control and digitalisation. As part of The Butcher's Shop programme, Mickaël Chabanon will be present, French butcher and world champion in the beef speciality at the last World Butcher's Challenge in Sacramento (USA).
Additionally, the best butchers, charcutiers, poulterers and specialised butchers will be awarded, and will be able to demonstrate their skills in the two competitions that will take place at The Butcher´s Shop: Young Butchers Competition and Best Artisan Burger Competition. In addition, for the fourth consecutive year, the IV Meeting of Women in the Meat Industry will be held.
B2Meat and Guest Importing Country: The United Kingdom and the Philippines
Meat Attraction offers participants a platform for international promotion and expansion. In this sense, IFEMA MADRID invests heavily in the International Guest Programme, which attracts buyers from all over the world to the fair, suggested by exhibiting companies.
The fair will also be attended by more than 100 major buyers from priority countries for the B2Meat workshops. With the collaboration of the commercial offices of ICEX Spain Export and Investment throughout the world, the countries with the best performance in imports of Spanish meat products have been established.
This programme has been joined by Guest Importing Countries, which on this occasion are the United Kingdom and the Philippines. These are extraordinary markets for absorbing important volumes of imports, which makes them strategic for a meat industry such as the Spanish one.

Meat Attraction offers visitors an intense and powerful programme of technical conferences with the participation of renowned professionals from the industry. From topical content to the analysis of the challenges, trends and opportunities of the meat industry, as well as different success stories and round tables, among other subjects.

Once again this year, it will be the setting for different showcookings and demonstrations using different products.
Precisely with the aim of promoting the passion for meat and linking its consumption in catering establishments, Meat Attraction and the Spanish Hotel and Catering Industry have joined forces within the framework of the Fair to hold the Meat Attraction Hotel and Catering Awards, aimed at traditional catering establishments with an expert positioning in the meat product and its preparation (rotisseries, grills, etc.).
