Among the 21 renowned designers participating in this event, the standout new names include JNORIG, Álex Rivière, and Baro Lucas, who join an already distinguished lineup of established fashion creators. Spain's leading fashion runway for designer fashion will kick off on February 19 with Fashion Shows in the city, followed by runway shows at Hall 14.1 of IFEMA MADRID from February 20 to 23.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid presented this morning its 81st edition, to be held from February 19 to 23. As in every edition, the event reaffirms its commitment to Spanish fashion, combining the talent of established designers with the fresh perspective of new promises.

Additionally, the presentation underscored how Madrid is once again becoming the epicenter of designer fashion with the event “Madrid es Moda”, which will precede the MBFWMadrid runway shows—both supported by the Madrid Capital de Moda program of Madrid’s City Council.

A Schedule That Blends Tradition and Innovation

The official MBFWMadrid calendar will feature 21 designers. Among the highlights of this edition is the much-anticipated debut of Álex Rivière, who will captivate with his minimalist sophistication. JNORIG will also make his debut with a contemporary and innovative proposal, while Baro Lucas will present a collection that seeks luxury in simplicity. Meanwhile, Menchen Tomas returns to the Madrid runway with her delicate and feminine style.

The presentation featured Engracia Hidalgo, Madrid’s City Council Delegate for Economy, Innovation, and Treasury, who emphasized that fashion is a driving force for cultural, economic, and talent-driven innovation, reflecting the city’s identity. Modesto Lomba, president of ACME, highlighted that these events have made Madrid Fashion Week the most important fashion event in Spain. Meanwhile, Daniel Martínez, Executive Vice President of IFEMA MADRID, underlined that these events not only boost the industry but also reinforce Spain’s brand in the fashion sector and contribute to the growth of the country’s creative economy.

On Thursday, February 20, the Madrid runway will open with Baro Lucas and his contemporary elegance, followed by Yolancris and his romantic haute couture. Mans will present avant-garde tailoring, while Pedro del Hierro will showcase timeless sophistication. Menchen Tomas will highlight femininity with enveloping textures, Álex Rivière will impress with cosmopolitan minimalism, and Claro Couture will close the day with an exploration of haute couture volumes.

On Friday, February 21, Simorra will open with a tribute to craftsmanship, followed by Isabel Sanchis, who will blend structure and fluidity. Hannibal Laguna will display glamour and sensuality, Ynésuelves will bring a fresh perspective, and Custo Barcelona will stand out with an explosion of color. Erroz will merge functionality with urban design, while Malne will close the day with sophisticated haute couture.

The final day for established designers, Saturday, February 22, will begin with Paloma Suárez and her creative strength, followed by Odette Álvarez and her bohemian style. Fely Campo will play with elegant structures, JNORIG will debut with bold designs, and Ángel Schlesser will reaffirm his minimalist approach. Lola Casademunt By Maite will bring dynamism. Before the last show, the L’Oréal Paris Award for Best Collection and Model will be presented, and as a grand finale, Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada will fill the runway with color and fantasy.

Spotlighting Emerging Talent

Sunday, February 23, will be dedicated to emerging talent with the EGO runway, where designers such as Rtama, Studio Cumbre, Odis, Aleixandri Studio, PAT Equilux, Alineo Studio, Bonet, and Antonio del Canto will showcase their avant-garde proposals. Additionally, designer David Moss, along with the international guest brand Sandra Weil from MBFWMéxico, will close the runway lineup. As is tradition, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent Award will be presented, recognizing the creativity of the new generation of designers.

On Wednesday, February 19, the “Fashion Shows in the City” will take center stage, featuring María Lafuente, Rafael Urquízar, Félix Ramiro, Pilar Dalbat, and young talents from UDIT, along with a Virtual Show by Andrew Pocrid, who will present his collection in fashion film format.
