Peter Sposito Studio in Zamora has won the 23rd Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent award for the best emerging collection with “The RTW Couture”, which represents the essence of life

The firm Peter Sposito Studio won the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent award as the best-emerging collection on the penultimate day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, which is devoted to emerging talents on the Allianz EGO catwalk. This contest has been recognising and supporting the new promises of the national scene for more than a decade, such as Zamora designer Peter Sposito.

Peter Sposito was the winner chosen from among nine candidates for the award with his “The RTW Couture” collection, presented on Sunday, 18 February. “I made this collection for myself, to enjoy it, and the truth is that I did not expect to win. I feel it is my most honest proposal, with which I have opened up more internally. I hope it helps people understand Peter Sposito Studio. Now let's keep creating!” declared the designer excitedly at the end of the award ceremony.

The Peter Sposito Studio is immersed in the essence of life: to be born, to grow, to adapt and to die, representing these stages through the seasons of the year. Each garment tells a unique story, with the aim of savouring every moment, valuing the small details, affection and freedom, and encouraging people to be the best they can be.

Peter Sposito Studio thus joins the pool of winners of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent like Ernesto Naranjo, Dominnico, David Catalán and Outsiders Division, who continue to delight with their creativity and talent. Thanks to the award, designer Peter Sposito will be able to parade at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Mexico, a catwalk that has already been conquered by former winners of this competition, such as Pepa Salazar (2013) and Aitorgoikoetxea (2023). The brand with the three-pointed star logo will accompany the winner in his first international experience as he presents his work on the other side of the Atlantic.

His collection captivated a jury composed of Maite Casademunt, creative director and chair of Lola Casademunt; José Juan Rodriguez and Francisco Casado, stylists; Isabel Basaldua, creative director at TecnoCreativa; and Raquel Pelaez, deputy director of S Moda. The experts said that he is a truly all-round designer who has presented four collections in one, but without sacrificing coherence and solidity. Not to mention his impeccable pattern cutting and manufacturing and excellent styling.

The Mexican western trend is in vogue in Madrid

The day dedicated to emerging talent culminated with a fashion show by Toronero, the international guest brand from MBFWMéxico. The creative duo formed by David Hernández and Emilio de Anda in 2016 captivated the public with their Western designs inspired by the heritage of ancient Mexico, combined with urban elements.
