Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, organized by IFEMA together with the Madrid City Council, will take place from 8 to 11 April, 2021 at IFEMA. The great fashion event of our country will be held in a special context, just as the September 2021 edition was held, marked by the rigorous security measures and protocols due to the pandemic generated by COVID-19.

Three names are added to the official calendar of MBFWMadrid

Pablo Erroz, Otrura and Maite by Lola Casademunt join the official catwalk calendar. The three firms have a track record of recognized prestige and their participation has been endorsed by the favorable assessment of the MBFWMadrid Fashion Committee, the event’s advisory body. Their incorporation will bring new discourse and creative language to the event.

The return of Ulisés Mérida and Maya Hansen

Both the Toledo designer Ulisés Mérida and the Madrid designer Maya Hansen, regulars in previous years at MBFWMadrid, return in this edition with new formats for the presentation of their collections. Both designers, important protagonists of Spanish fashion, are committed to presenting their collections in different formats adapted to the new situation.

A hybrid format

The 73rd edition of MBFWMadrid maintains its commitment to a hybrid format, alternating face-to-face fashion shows with performances, fashion film screenings, as well as presentations and fashion shows from the off program. All this content can be viewed and followed through the official website of MBFWMadrid, which, as in the previous edition, will include extra content with fashion and participating designers as the stars. Due to the health situation, all collections will be presented under strict safety and capacity control measures.

Sponsors with a strong commitment to Spanish fashion

In a context like the current one, especially complicated for Spanish fashion, the support offered to MBFWMadrid by the 12 sponsoring brands present at this event deserves special recognition, once again demonstrating their commitment to the fashion design industry with great intensity. Thus, Mercedes-Benz, L'Oréal Paris and Inditex continue as the main sponsors; Iberia, Oppo, MÓ de Multiópticas as sponsors; and Mascarillas Béjar, ESNE, Klarna, Vegamar, Larios and UNISA as collaborators.

Boost from the Madrid City Council

Moreover, in this edition MBFWMadrid will receive the prominent support of the Madrid City Council, which will participate in various activities in order to lend visibility to the event and the participating designers.

Safety at IFEMA

All the runway displays will be held under an ambitious safety protocol implemented by IFEMA to guarantee Pavilion 14.1’s designation as a “safe space.” This protocolcombines all the necessary measures to organize the orientation of attendees and their mobility; establishing capacity controls; interpersonal distance; the elimination of direct contact through digital registration; the taking of body temperature; the widening of spaces and the incorporation of the latest technologies for counting attendees; and especially for the constant renewal of air in the pavilions, among other innovations in this environment.
