About Rtama
Born and raised in Cambiago, a small town near Milan, Marta Mangano is the founder of Rtama, an artisanal knitwear fashion brand that combines traditional techniques with purposeful design. Founded in Barcelona in 2023, Rtama is more than a fashion brand: it is the culmination of Marta's vision to create clothing with soul, offering pieces that tell stories and invite authentic self-expression.
With a background in fashion design and an innate passion for art, Marta has always seen fashion as a form of communication. From the beginning, she approached design as a way to explore themes such as the body and its anatomy, identity and sustainability.
Each Rtama piece is carefully handcrafted, combining high quality sustainable materials with artisanal techniques. The brand invites those who wear it to feel free, authentic and part of a larger story. Each garment is made with the intention of promoting peace and unity among people.

“Sit Up!”
Sit Up! is a proposal that highlights the power of fashion as a medium to tell stories of resilience and community. Inspired by my personal experiences in Mexico City, this collection explores the connections between sports, urban identity, and overcoming challenges in socially unequal contexts.
This year, I had the opportunity to spend three months in Mexico City for work, where I observed the many facets of this vibrant metropolis. One of the most striking realities was the stark divide between social classes, evident even in how people practice sports. In many neighborhoods, sports transcend physical activity: they become a source of empowerment, a healthy escape, and a chance to build community resilience amidst daily challenges. These spaces symbolize unity and personal growth, an inspiring dynamic I aimed to capture in Sit Up!
Aesthetically, I was inspired by the authentic, spontaneous style in these sports spaces. Many individuals wore inherited, worn-out, or reused garments, combining items from different sports. Jeans paired with football jerseys, athletic socks with boxing shoes, or basketball shorts with mismatched tops were common. This chaotic mix reflects personal stories and the lack of strict dress codes, which I embraced in the collection.
Sit Up! embodies values of vitality, strength, and hope. Gray dominates the collection, symbolizing urban concrete, while metallic rings evoke exercise tools and resilience. With a blend of sporty and urban aesthetics, this collection mirrors the dynamic and resilient rhythm of urban life.
