Menchén Tomás

Olga Menchén studied at Escuela de Artes y Técnicas de la Moda in Barcelona. After finishing her studies she worked as a fashion designer for theater, cinema and TV.

In 1995 she founded MENCHEN TOMAS. 

MENCHEN TOMAS designs, produces and manufactures its own Prêt-à-Porter, Evening and Bride collections. It also produces tailor-made and bridal designs. Furthermore all styles from Collections can be made to order.

The entire production process is located in Spain, which allows a continuous monitoring of all phases in order to guarantee the best quality on the final product.

Between 1995 and 2001 the collections were shown at the Salón Gaudí’s catwalk. From 2013 they have been showcased in MBFW Madrid and in the 080 Fashion Week Barcelona.

‘Blitz

Inspired by the experimental spirit of the Blitz club, the epicentre of creativity and style that marked the beginning of the 80s, this collection aims to capture the essence of an era that marked a before and after in fashion and music. We reimagine this legacy by adapting it to modern sensibilities without losing its original essence.

Our proposal not only pays homage to the innovative spirit of the London club, but also invites a reflection on sustainability and the value of reusing materials in unexpected ways, promoting a dialogue between the past and the future of fashion.

The fabrics selected - delicate silks, structured crepe, triacetate and chantilly - are a statement of intent. Each piece is designed to offer movement, texture and a sense of luxury, redefining contemporary elegance. An evolving colour palette, starting with classic black and white, then unfurls into nuanced shades such as metallic tones, eucalyptus green, porcelain blue and pale pink. Each shade evokes emotions and complements the dynamism of the designs.
Creative boldness brought into the present, playing with the idea of decontextualising garments and materials from their traditional use.
