About De la Cierva & Nicolás

**De la Cierva & Nicolás** is a Spanish couture brand characterized by handcrafted creations that fulfill the fashion dreams of women worldwide. This family business, based in Murcia, is distinguished by its exclusive and bespoke designs, marked by meticulous attention to detail, exquisite quality, and the high architectural component of its fabrics, materials, and embellishments. All of its creative processes are carried out with a commitment to sustainability.

Dolores Nicolás, the soul of the brand, began working alongside her mother Rosa, a professional dressmaker, during the summers of her adolescence. Later, she pursued her studies in cutting and dressmaking remotely from Murcia, her hometown.

With her mother's support, Dolores founded her own business in 1988. Today, it boasts a business structure of twenty professionals, including pattern makers and cutters, a communication and showroom team, stylists, and three key figures in the brand: her husband, Julián de la Cierva, who manages administration and operations, and her two daughters, Blanca and María, whose roles in the company are defined by their specializations.

The brand has its own store in Murcia and is present in several cities across Spain, such as the Valyty Place in Madrid, and abroad.

After 40 years of journey, De la Cierva & Nicolás has participated in numerous fashion shows and national and international fairs, including Europeinsa Runway (Miami); Salón Cibeles (Madrid) andSalón prêt-à-porter Féminin (Paris); Madrid International Fashion Week (SIMM); Gaudí Brides Runway (Barcelona); Sposaitalia Exhibition (Milan); CPM Collection Première Moscow; C.P. Igedo-Fashion Fairs Runway (Düsseldorf); Spanish Couture Runway; "Who’s Next" Fair (Paris), and in 2024, an Exhibition in New York on a trade mission with the Murcia Region Development Institute.

**LACHRYMA SPRING 25** is an ode to emotions, to the fleeting beauty that occurs in that instant when a tear emerges.

Each piece in this collection, composed of 35 looks, has been constructed like a poem woven with threads of feelings, intending to reflect the different states of mind we experience and explore, provoke or repress, before breaking into tears. It is the delicate trail of this salty drop that gives rise to this collection, handcrafted with the introduction of cutting-edge technological processes.

The euphoria of happiness, the melancholy of sadness, and the fury of rage are some of the nuances that, through the designs, capture the diversity of silhouettes, tones, and techniques of the proposal. Regarding fabrics and materials, the brand opts for the "moulage" technique to achieve volumes that emerge like sighs, evoking the fragility or strength of tears. Fabrics such as double gazar with a pearlescent finish, faux tweed, and organza embroidered with fiberglass filaments become living reflections of the movement of tears, recreating their ephemeral beauty, powerful emotional significance, and shine.

Highlights of this collection also include printed tulle in the form of veils and the introduction of technological processes through the use of sustainable materials made from recycled plastic bottles. Inspired by the unique ways in which our tears crystallize under the microscope, the colors of this collection flow from the purest white to rigorous black, passing through red, sand tones, cerulean blue, ultramarine, storm, and Payne's grey. This collection is a reminder of the very essence of our humanity: our capacity to feel, to love, to cry, and to find relief even in the darkest moments, addressing ephemeral beauty and its powerful emotional significance.
