National Artisan Bakery Championship
InterSICOP 2022 held its thirteenth edition with the participation of 15,652 professionals from 44 countries, a call tailored to the needs of the entire value chain of the bakery, pastry, ice cream, coffee shop and equipment industry that has exceeded the expectations of the various associations that have actively participated.
Organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, InterSICOP 2022 was held from October 19 to 22. It also registered the participation of 170 exhibitors from 6 countries.
In this edition, InterSICOP was consolidated as the main space for business and visualization of the sector, with a great capacity for international promotion in Ibero-America, as evidenced by the program of international guests and initiatives such as the Ibero-American Summit organized by CEOPPAN, in which the presidents of the main bakery associations of Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Venezuela, Mexico, Uruguay, Portugal and Spain took part.
As in every edition, one of the highlights of InterSICOP 2022 has been the extensive program of technical presentations by great and renowned masters, who have shared techniques, recipes and knowledge.
Specifically, visitors filled the capacity to hear and see live work by outstanding pastry chefs such as Miquel Guarro, head pastry chef at Hofmann Barcelona; Eric Ortuño, two-time winner of the Dulcypas Award for Best Tea Pastry in Spain; Josep Maria Ribé, director of the Chocolate Academy of Barcelona; trendy gelato makers such as Carlo Guerriero, of La Cremeria Gelato Italiano, and Jordi Guillem, of Real Ice Gelato; and bakers Yohan Ferrant, Carlos Mariel and José Roldán, among others.
InterSICOP 2022 has also been the setting for three major national pastry, bakery and ice cream championships, as well as a competition that discovers new pastry talents: Il MMAPE, the competition par excellence of Spanish pastry; the Spanish Ice Cream Championship; the National Student Pastry Championship and the IV Artisan Bakery Championship.
