The NTGAS programmable gas burner, winner of the 1st GUEXT Award for Excellence in Hospitality Innovation
Digitalchefs allows a standardised result to be achieved for complex recipes, boosting productivity and reducing gas consumption by up to 50%.
Guext, the International Exhibition of Suppliers and Services for the Hospitality Industry, organised by IFEMA MADRID and FELAC (Spanish Federation of Associations of Equipment Manufacturers for the Hospitality and Related Industries), which closed on 20 October, has announced the winner of the 1st Guext Award for Excellence in Hospitality Innovation 2024.
The Digitalchefs eHQ04 and eP31 programmable burners from NTGAS were declared the winners after the consideration and deliberation of an expert panel of judges who assessed the level of innovation and originality, applicability and utility, commitment to sustainability and the design and aesthetics of a total of 13 products from the cutting-edge equipment displayed in the Guext Innovation Gallery.
These professional gas burners with digital flame control and ionisation ignition allow the cooking of complex dishes to be standardised, adjusting key factors such as the broth, the time or flame intensity. They improve productivity and reduce costs, allowing the cook to supervise 15-20 hobs, save up to 30% on broth and 50% on gas, thus reducing the carbon footprint. They are also programmable via an app and can be operated in manual or automatic modes.
After hearing the verdict, David Pardo, CEO of NTGAS, stated that “we are very pleased to receive the first Guext Award for Excellence in Hospitality Innovation as it gives a significant boost to an SME that is investing in innovation. It is a product created to make life easier for chefs, allowing them to be more productive, save on costs and reduce their carbon footprint, as the burner allows for a 50% reduction in gas consumption”.
The Guext Innovation Gallery was created with the aim of recognising and awarding companies and professionals who are transforming the sector through cutting-edge solutions which optimise operational efficiency, promote sustainability and contribute to improving the experience of hospitality clients.
The panel of judges was formed of Yolanda Villaseñor, Director of Product Certification at AENOR, Fernando Palacios, Electrical & Electronics Department – SGS, Vicente Lorente, Director of the Escuela de Hostelería y Turismo de Cámara de Madrid (Madrid Chamber of Commerce School of Hospitality and Tourism), and Mª José Claudio, Director of FELAC.
