Internationally renowned speakers are taking part in the first global congress on sustainable mobility, which will be held from 14–16 June 2022 at IFEMA MADRID.
The firm has created the McKinsey Center for Future Mobility to help companies, investors, governments, and social sector entities transform the way they approach mobility, making it easier, more sustainable, smarter, and cheaper for everyone.
McKinsey & Company, committed to the development of sustainable mobility, has joined the Global Mobility Call 2022 as Knowledge Ally. This movement, organized by IFEMA MADRID and Smobhub, aims to become an international benchmark in the development of sustainable mobility, contributing to post-pandemic recovery and a cleaner, safer, more inclusive society. The event has strong institutional support, with the participation of several relevant international institutions in the promotion of sustainable mobility at a global level, as well as the main sectorial associations of the ecosystem, and it will take place in IFEMA Madrid, from June 14th to June 16th, 2022.
McKinsey developed the McKinsey Center for Future Mobility (MCFM) to help companies, investors, governments, and social sector entities transform the way they approach mobility in all its forms, making it easier, more sustainable, smarter, and cheaper for everyone. The MCFM works with stakeholders across the mobility ecosystem by providing independent and integrated evidence about possible future-mobility scenarios: autonomous driving, e-mobility or shared mobility. The work of the MCFM is a guide to action for individual, public, and private sector actors and will be shared throughout the event.
MCFM focuses its actions in three main areas: Consumers, Technology and Operating Environment. McKinsey works with clients to reinvent and enrich the mobility consumer experience by creating more seamless ground and air transportation options that are sustainable and improve the quality of life around the world. “According to data analyzed recently by the center, 70% of commuters would prefer to use micromobility, like bikes or scooters, for their daily commute, instead of cars; 59% of car buyers are interested in buying their next car online, what will have a significant impact for the automotive industry; and, in China, 56% of consumers would change their car brand for better connectivity” said Rafael Westinner.
“Our research indicates that by 2035, 1 in 3 new cars are expected to have advanced (L3+) assistance systems, around 500 electric models have been announced by original equipment manufacturer (OEMs) for 2025, and seven billion dollars have already been invested in future air-mobility initiatives”, ads Rafael Westinner.
Finally, in terms of the operating mobility environment, figures show that around 150 cities around the world have announced car restriction policies, while 75% of all new cars sold in Europe will be electric by 2030. When it comes to the factors shaping this environment, work expands to the public, private, and social sectors. Decision makers of all types need to support their actions in reliable, tested, well-researched information accounting for the complexity of modern mobility challenges, upon which successful, sustainable approaches can be built for future shared and e-mobility planning and action of all types.
Throughout its participation in the event, McKinsey will contribute sharing the knowledge acquired through the experience of its experts and information gathered through its research center, with the aim of contributing to the development of sustainable mobility in Spain, Europe and the world, together with the leaders of sustainable mobility gathered for this occasion.
