IFEMA MADRID hosts the third edition of Global Mobility Call, a key event for sustainable mobility

The event, organised in partnership with Smobhub, brings together industry leaders to address the challenges and opportunities of future mobility.

IFEMA MADRID opens its doors from 19 to 21 November to the Global Mobility Call, a crucial event for the future of sustainable mobility. Held in Hall 3 of the Exhibition Centre, the event, co-organised with Smobhub, brings together prominent institutional and business leaders and international experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by the transformation of the sector.

The official opening of the Global Mobility Call was attended by leading figures, including Daniel Martínez, Executive Vice President of IFEMA; Juan José Lillo, Partner & Co-Founder of Smobhub; Jorge Rodrigo, Regional Minister of Housing, Transport and Infrastructures of the Community of Madrid; and Óscar Puente, Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility. Daniel Martínez Rodríguez, in his opening speech, highlighted the importance of the Global Mobility Call as a forum to promote the transition towards a decarbonised economic model, with sustainable mobility at its core. Juan José Lillo, for his part, underlined the global relevance of the event and the need for Spain to have international events of reference in the field of mobility. He emphasised the internationalisation of the Global Mobility Call as a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences and investments. Lillo highlighted the presence of high-level international speakers and the focus of the congress on key issues such as innovation, urban planning and public transport.

On the other hand, Jorge Rodrigo, Regional Minister of Housing, Transport and Infrastructures of the Community of Madrid, highlighted the importance of the event as a showcase and driver of the transformation of the sector. He highlighted the role of the Community of Madrid as host and active participant in the Global Mobility Call, underlining the importance of public transport as a fundamental right. While the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Óscar Puente, addressed the urgency of climate action in the context of recent extreme weather events. He recalled the impact of global warming and the need to reduce transport emissions. Puente defended decarbonisation and economic growth as two sides of the same coin, arguing that growth is essential for investment in clean technologies.

With this third edition, Global Mobility Call consolidates its position as a benchmark event for debate and the search for solutions in the field of sustainable mobility, bringing together the main players in the sector in a space conducive to collaboration and innovation.
