CEDEX will highlight its commitment to sustainable, resilient, and digital mobility through its Strategic Agenda and its various activities and projects aimed at improving mobility.

The autonomous organism CEDEX will participate as a Partner at Global Mobility Call, organized by IFEMA MADRID and Smobhub from November 19 to 21. The event will bring together leading organizations and professionals dedicated to the development of sustainable mobility. CEDEX will emphasize its commitment to sustainable, resilient, and digital mobility through its highly specialized technical assistance, R&D&I efforts, and knowledge transfer activities.

CEDEX’s Commitment to Mobility

At the event, CEDEX will participate in two key sessions:

  • Tuesday, November 19: “Safe Mobility from Institutions” at the Alliance Agora.
  • Wednesday, November 20: “Roadmap to Net Zero Emissions Transport” (sponsored by Sistem), which will focus on the development and integration of alternative fuels and renewable energy sources in transportation.

CEDEX’s Strategic Agenda, which will be detailed at the event, focuses on two thematic priorities: mobility and the environment. These priorities are framed by challenges in resilience, sustainability, and digitalization, addressed through various projects and initiatives.

As an implementing agent of the National Climate Change Plan, CEDEX is committed to creating resilient and sustainable mobility systems. This includes the development of a "Climate Change Adaptation Methodology for Roads" in collaboration with the Technical Road Association (ATC), supporting the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility in adapting the State Road Network, and assisting ports in climate adaptation planning. CEDEX also undertakes initiatives to enhance safety and improve the operation of infrastructure, crucial for resilient transportation systems.

To foster sustainable mobility, CEDEX is part of Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking (ERJU), Europe’s leading rail R&D&I initiative, collaborating with Adif, Renfe, and Ineco. Through ERJU, CEDEX is involved in four projects focused on enhancing traffic management systems, monitoring autonomous trains, and managing assets through intelligent maintenance tools.

In the field of digital mobility, CEDEX leads projects aimed at improving transport efficiency and information management. One example is the PROMETEO project, which uses satellite technologies for predictive infrastructure maintenance, and the SCALE project, which promotes the deployment of C-ITS technologies. It also highlights the use of Big Data and AI for studying maritime traffic safety and its environmental impacts.

These projects are primarily conducted for the Ministry of Transport, Mobility, and Urban Agenda; the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge; and European institutions. During Global Mobility Call, CEDEX will organize activities to disseminate these initiatives.

Áurea Perucho, Director of CEDEX, emphasized the organization’s commitment to national challenges related to mobility and the environment. “We contribute our cross-disciplinary expertise and leverage our privileged position, which includes highly qualified human resources and unique technological equipment. This allows us to provide reliable, independent technical opinions that deliver significant benefits to society,” she explained. “We are delighted to participate in GMC,” she concluded.
