FORO GENERA and FORO GENERA SOLAR will hold informative sessions and presentations on innovative developments for the energy sector.

The GENERA Technical Conferences, organised in collaboration with the main sectoral associations, technological centres and public administrations, will bring together experts from the sector over three days to analyse and debate the most relevant issues for the sector today.

Full Programme

Over 40 sessions will be held this year during the Technical Conferences at GENERA 2023, the International Energy and Environment Fair, organised by IFEMA MADRID, with the support of the Spanish Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving, IDAE, running from 21 to 23 February 2023. Over three days, the main sectoral associations, technological centres and public administrations will gather together with experts from the sector to analyse and debate current issues such as the energy transition, energy storage, safety and communities, green hydrogen, as well as self-consumption, decarbonisation processes, R&D&i, funding and much more.

Conferences to be held in IFEMA MADRID’s North Convention Centre

One set of the GENERA Conferences will be held in IFEMA MADRID’s North Convention Centre, kicking off on Tuesday 21 February, with the sessions organised by IMDEA Energía on waste as sources of renewable energies, producing sustainable fuels and concentrating solar technologies for electricity and heat generation. Cogeneration associations, COGEN ESPAÑA and ACOGEN, will dedicate a full day to the challenges of cogeneration in decarbonising the industry; APPA, the Association of Renewable Energy Businesses, will hold 5 presentations on biomass, marine, wind and solar energies, industrial self-consumption and PPPs, energy communities, storage and e-mobility. The ILLUSTRIOUS OFFICIAL COLLEGE OF GEOLOGISTS will discuss “District Heating” and ANESE, the National Association of Energy Service Companies, will hold conferences on decarbonisation objectives and ESCs as an opportunity to move towards energy efficiency.

On the Wednesday, A3E, Association of Energy Efficient Companies - will discuss the flexibility of the electricity market, in collaboration with ENTRA, and Energy Communities, AEPIBAL, the Spanish Association for Batteries and Energy Storage, and SOLARTYS, the Spanish Association for the Internationalisation and Innovation of Solar Companies, will carry out an analysis of the current state of energy storage and discuss innovation projects for storage and solar energy, as well as energy communities. In the afternoon, AELEC, the Association for Electric Energy Companies, will discuss the ecological transition; AeH2, the Spanish Association for Hydrogen, will discuss energy business models; ASEALEN, the Spanish Association for Energy Storage, will discuss opportunities for energy storage and ASIT, the Solar Thermal Industry Association, will hold its XV Solar Thermal Energy Congress.

The Thursday will be dedicated to Heating and Air Conditioning Networks, with the session organised by ADHAC, the Association of Heating and Cooling Network Companies, together with the Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, MITECO, and FEMP; ATECYR, the Spanish Technical Association for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, will carry out an analysis of the life cycle of heating installations in buildings; and AEE, the Wind Energy Business Association, will hold two morning sessions on wind energy and hybridisation and offshore wind energy in Spain. CENER, the National Centre for Renewable Energies, will also participate, providing a Podcast on the Transition over the three days of GENERA.

FORO GENERA AND FORO GENERA SOLAR

The FORO GENERA programme will be rolled out across the many Rooms and Auditoriums of the GENERA pavilions. It will include different informational sessions, run by exhibiting companies, sectoral associations and institutions. The parallel FORO GENERA SOLAR programme, organised by the Spanish Solar Association, UNEF, will focus on decarbonisation in rural areas and boosting renewable energies in light of rising inflation, as well as other topics.

The FORO GENERA presentations will offer visitors a panorama of some of the innovations on show at the trade fair, like the importance of installation companies in the sustainability of buildings; long-term funding options available on the market for all client segments and all types of self-consumption installations; residential storage; how to increase sales in solar self-consumption; innovative technologies for floating and agrivoltaic installations, or decarbonisation with public funding.

The National Hydrogen Centre/CIEMAT will also hold a session on “Efficiency actions as a tool for energy stabilisation” and will present the Supplementary Plan for Energy and Green Hydrogen, and the Association of Electricity Companies, ASEME, will discuss local investment to drive the transition.

Under the FORO GENERA SOLAR, UNEF will organise three Conferences on the challenges and problems in funding projects; opportunities offered by self-consumption and energy communities, and innovating in solar energy without leaving Spain, the Association of Electricity Distributors, CIDE, will address local energy communities and hold a session on the Progress of Decarbonisation in rural areas.
