GENERA 2022 Opens for Bookings with Excellent Forecasts
June 14-16, 2022
The International Energy & Environment Trade Fair, GENERA 2022, has opened its first space allocation round, with good participation forecasts, as evidenced at the first meeting of the Fair’s Organising Committee. The meeting took place on 22nd March, chaired by the Institute for the Diversification & Saving of Energy (IDAE) of the Ministry for Ecological Transition & Demographic Challenge. Company bookings are already 40% higher than for the previous edition in 2021, with notable growth in international participation. These forecasts suggest that this edition will do even better than the satisfactory results achieved in 2021. The largest trade platform for this industry, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, will have the renewed support of the leading stakeholders in this critical sector of the economy. The event will take place from 14th to 16th June, in parallel with the fourth ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY FORUM, FSMS, in Hall 10 of the IFEMA MADRID Exhibition Centre, in synergy, with sustainability and the challenge of decarbonisation as a shared goal.
Attendance at last November’s GENERA was over 30,000 participants -of which 20,014 attended in person (it was held in a hybrid format), 8.5% more than at its previous edition in 2020. In terms of international attendance, 5.6% of the Fair’s visitors were from abroad, from 54 countries, with 49% of participants from 27 countries, reaffirming once again the importance of the Fair as an international business platform for the renewable energy sector. GENERA brought together a total of 498 participating companies and 211 direct exhibitors.
The Fair is promoted by the Institute for the Diversification & Saving of Energy (IDAE). It has the backing of the sector’s leading stakeholder organisations, represented on the recently constituted GENERA Organising Committee. The members of this organisation include: the Association of Energy Efficiency Companies (A3e), the Spanish Cogeneration Association (ACOGEN), the Association of Heating & Cooling Distribution Companies (ADHAC), the Spanish Wind Energy Association (AEE), the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AEH2), the Association of Integrated Maintenance & Energy Services Companies (AMI), the Association of Energy Services Companies (ANESE), the Spanish Association of Oil Product Operators (AOP), the Association of Renewable Energy Companies (APPA), the Solar Thermal Industry Association (ASIT), the Spanish Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technical Association (ATECYR), the Spanish Association for the Promotion of Cogeneration (COGEN Spain), Spanish Office for Climate Change of the Ministry for Ecological Transition & Demographic Challenge, the Association of Electricity Distributors (CIDE), the Association of Electricity & Energy Service Companies and Agents (ENTRA), and the Spanish Photovoltaic Union (UNEF).
In partnership with the industry’s leading firms, GENERA 2022 will showcase the R&D efforts of this cutting edge sector through the most innovative solutions in the following fields: energy, telecommunications, energy efficiency and energy efficiency, Solar Photovoltaic, Energy Saving & Efficiency, Wind, Energy Services, Solar Thermal, Solar Thermoelectric, Biomass, Hydraulic & Minihydraulic Mobility, Geothermal Energy, Cogeneration, Trigeneration & Microgeneration, and Hydrogen & Fuel Cell.
GENERA’s offer is aimed at a wide range of professionals in consultancy, engineering, construction, commerce, industrial energy users, equipment manufacturers & distributors, installers & maintenance companies, energy project promoters, universities & research centres, prescribers & real estate promoters, government and in general, all those working in the energy and environmental efficiency and renewable energies fields as part of the move towards climate neutrality.
. Space for Analysis
In parallel with the trade exhibition, GENERA 2022 will include a comprehensive programme of technical talks and panel discussions. The programme will focus on how to actively incorporate new actors (a systemic approach to address climate change and decarbonisation), local energy communities (efficiency, sustainability), the rural environment (economic and social development), new developments in regulations applicable to the sector, the importance of energy savings and efficiency, the need to improve outreach efforts (social communication and energy), Spain’s leadership in the renewable energy field, talent in the sector, quality in processes, and advances in technology.
The 25th Energy and Environment International Trade Fair will be held from 14th to 16th June 2022, jointly with the fourth ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY FORUM (FSMS, in halls 6 and 8 of the IFEMA MADRID Trade Fair Centre). It will include the 21st International Urban Planning & Environment Fair (TECMA), the eighth International Recovery & Recycling Fair (SRR), and the fifth MADRID CITIES FORUM. GENERA will also coincide with IFEMA MADRID’s new project, Global Mobility Call, an international congress on sustainable mobility for people and goods.
