COSTA RICA to promote its agricultural products at Fruit Attraction 2023
From 3 to 5 October 2023, Costa Rica will showcase its wide portfolio of fresh and quality produce at the 15th edition of Fruit Attraction at stand 4C18-4D18, a global meeting point for the agricultural value chain. The fair is organised by the Spanish Federation of Fruit Exporting Producers Associations (FEPEX) and IFEMA MADRID.
For this edition, the Foreign Trade Promotion Agency of Costa Rica (PROCOMER) and the country brand Esencial Costa Rica are promoting the participation of agricultural companies that produce and market products such as tropical fruits, roots, tubers, vegetables and insipient products that characterise the wide range of Costa Rican exports, with the aim of promoting exports and boosting the development of the agricultural sector in the country.
"Costa Rica has a wide diversity of fresh produce to offer to the world market that stands out for meeting high standards of quality and innovation during the production process. Currently, exports from the agricultural sector represent 3.2% of the national GDP, which is why PROCOMER seeks to support companies in the sector by taking advantage of commercial tools such as the international fair Fruit Attraction. National exporters will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to new markets and potential clients, as well as consolidate commercial relations with their current buyers from around the world," said Mario Saenz, PROCOMER's Export Development Manager.
During the fair, there will be an exhibition of their products at the Esencial Costa Rica stand, in addition, exporters will have the opportunity to participate in forums, seminars and technical conferences of specialised content, with topics related to new trends that promote opportunities in the sector.
At the end of 2022, exports from the agricultural sector totalled $2,243 million, of which the European continent accounted for 46%, where the Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom and Spain were the main buyers of products such as bananas, pineapple, coffee and cassava, among others.
