CAAE will bring water, fertiliser and input standards to Fruit Attraction
Europe's leading certification body, with a wide range of services, will be at a new edition of Fruit Attraction in October at IFEMA Madrid.
Spain is facing enormous challenges linked to water, with regular periods of drought such as the one we are currently experiencing, exacerbated by the impact of climate change.
The agricultural sector is responsible for 80% of water consumption in Spain and therefore it is necessary to control farms to improve their efficiency and sustainability, especially to prevent part of the water resources from being obtained illegally.
In this context, CAAE's services include the standard for the legal, sustainable and efficient use of water, which offers the greatest guarantees to national and international consumers regarding the origin of the water used on farms.
Along with this standard, the organisation will also present its EU fertiliser and UNE input standards at Fruit Attraction. In the case of fertilisers, Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 harmonises the requirements that fertilisers must meet in the European Union in order to be marketed, including the CE marking on the labelling. And in the case of UNE inputs, it is a public and accredited standard that offers additional guarantees to farmers, livestock farmers and industries that use these products, as well as to end consumers.
CAAE will be presenting these and other services in Hall 8 at stand 8C01.
