Gusto del Sur, the agri-food quality brand of Junta de Andalucía, will be the main character of the in-stitutional stand.
Andalusia participates as a guest region in the XVI edition of the international fair Fruit Attraction with the aim of boosting the regional agri-food sector through the promotion of products, their production methods and their identification in the market.
The Andalusian Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, wants to promote the positioning of Andalusia as a world leader in the fruit and vegetable sector. In this sense, it shows foods grown under the highest standards of quality, sustainability and innovation.
In addition, it aims to increase consumer awareness of the region's products and increase the recognition of those with differentiated quality labels.
Andalusia will also promote its differentiated quality brand “Gusto del Sur” at its stand at Fruit Attraction, promoted by Junta de Andalucía a year ago and managed since then by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development.
Under this seal of quality, Junta de Andalucía faces a new stage in the Andalusian agri-food to promote the excellence of its products in all markets under the slogan “Gusto del Sur. It is quality. It is Andalusia”.
Since its launch, more than 110 companies and associations have joined “Gusto del Sur”, which means that up to 280 products from different sectors and subsectors already bear this label recognized by Europe. The pioneering companies and associations of “Gusto del Sur” belong to various sectors, highlighting the fruit and vegetable sector with companies producing blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, custard apple, avocado, loquat, mango, citrus, tomato, asparagus and potato, as well as canned vegetables.
The fruit and vegetable companies represent the third sector within the “Gusto del Sur” brand, with 26 registered entities between companies and regulatory councils and eight in the process of being processed.
“Gusto del Sur” represents the entire Andalusian agri-food reality, and Junta de Andalucía is working with the sector to incorporate other quality assumptions so that the new brand is increasingly representative of the Andalusian agri-food sector.
To be part of “Gusto del Sur”, the Junta de Andalucía has developed an online platform where the entrepreneur can provide documentation and send the application for membership. The application period is open all year round and the resolution period is a maximum of three months.
