ValGenetics, present at the show, is an R&D&I biotechnology laboratory that develops global solutions to generate a more profitable agri-food sector through scientific and technical research lines in phytopathology, microbiology, genetics, physiology and in vitro plant cultivation.

ValGenetics operates as a private research centre that links academic research, agriculture and the agri-food industry. In its laboratories, research, scientific rigour, personalised treatment and cutting-edge technology are very present. The multidisciplinary team at ValGenetics studies and integrates the latest scientific research to successfully deal with problems posed by agricultural producers, fruit and vegetable centres, nurseries, seed companies, variety breeders or nutritional and phytosanitary product companies. These problems affect quality, yield or market position.

To develop these scientific-technical solutions, the company has a multidisciplinary team, appropriate infrastructures and a portfolio of advanced techniques. Thus, ValGenetics has more than 5 laboratories, biosafety greenhouses, a germplasm bank, a quarantine station and state-of-the-art machinery that allows it to carry out projects, trials, theses and cutting-edge phytosanitary or genetic analyses based on Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS). Thanks to this, the company has positioned itself as a laboratory designated by Plant Health for the diagnosis of pests and diseases and works as a key element in the area of plant breeding.

ValGenetics is able to carry out phytopathological analyses to register new varieties, comply with plant passport regulations for the export of fruit or other plant material or collaborate in genetic improvement programmes. Services also include supplying pathogen-free mother plants to propagation nurseries through strict plant sanitation processes. In addition, it is possible to perform analyses to maintain the traceability of new plant varieties demanded by the consumer, detect microorganisms in soils, plant samples or in biostimulant and biocontrol products, and study the interaction of the plant with biotic or abiotic agents and environments.

ValGenetics, a global laboratory

During this trajectory of more than 10 years, ValGenetics laboratories have collaborated with entities in the agricultural sector ranging from small farmers to multinational companies. In this way, ValGenetics remains faithful to its principle of making scientific and technical advances available to the agricultural sector.

It will occupy stand 1B03B at Fruit Attraction.
