Mastercard held more than 40 meetings and closed three agreements at FITUR
Mastercard Tourism Innovation Hub announced at FITUR 2024 that digital, inclusive and sustainable tourism is possible. Its stand at the fair hosted multiple sessions, as well as closing three important collaboration agreements and more than 40 meetings with public representatives from ten different countries.
The Mastercard Tourism Innovation Hub spokesperson declared that "FITUR is always a highlight in our annual agenda, an event that we prepare with special care to show that digital, inclusive and sustainable tourism is possible". They explain that during the last edition of the trade fair, multiple sessions were held at their stand, three collaboration agreements were signed and more than 40 meetings were organised with public representatives from ten different countries.
Seville, Malaga and Madrid played a leading role, along with Costa Rica and its ‘Priceless Programme’. "To recall the Smart Streets project, together with Seville, we presented the second deputy mayor, Juan Bueno, with the work created with Artificial Intelligence based on the memories of tourists. Together with Málaga, Microsoft and Mabrian Technologies we live tested the Generative AI platform to assist tourism SMEs in Málaga".
And they add that "we also had the institutional presence of Almudena Maíllo, Tourism Delegate of the Madrid City Council, and William Rodríguez, Minister of Tourism of Costa Rica, with whom we presented, respectively, our study on tourists visiting Madrid; and we launched Tico Treasures, a digital platform that facilitates the marketing and worldwide distribution of Costa Rican artisans' products. In addition, the cultural director of Casa de Alba, chef Ramón Freixa, and Armando del Rey, co-owner of Corral de la Morería, toured the ‘priceless experiences’ designed for Mastercard.
