Yasuyuki Harada (Japan): "The number of Spanish visitors to Japan is expected to reach a record high."
Yasuyuki Harada, director-general of the Japan National Tourist Office (JNTO) in Madrid, proposes three main tourism proposals for travellers visiting Japan on the occasion of the Osaka World Expo 2025; and he gives us a preview of what to expect from Japan's participation at FITUR 2025.
Can you summarise the main tourism proposals that your country will be presenting at FITUR 2025?
In 2025, Japan is hosting the Osaka World Expo and many people are expected to visit the country. The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) proposes the following three main tourism proposals for travellers visiting Japan for the Osaka World Expo 2025: luxury travel with destinations and experiences where travellers can escape the everyday and enjoy special days out; promoting lesser-known and less crowded regional and local destinations that are yet to be discovered; and promoting sustainable travel that preserves the environment and culture.
Japan is a country brimming with natural beauty, culture, world-famous cuisine and unimaginable diversity. We invite you to find the perfect travel destination on the Japan stand at FITUR.
What will participation in this trade fair mean for your country?
With the return of Iberia's direct flight from Madrid to Tokyo from 27 October 2024, the number of Spanish visitors to Japan is expected to reach a record high. FITUR 2025 will be the first major tourism fair where it will be possible to see how travel to Japan is following this upward trend. It will also be a unique opportunity for all visitors to discover the infinite variety of tourist attractions that this destination has to offer.
