Galicia expresses its satisfaction at the high participation rates of FITUR 2024

The promotion of Galicia as a destination at FITUR 2024 ended with a high level of participation, both in the professional and general public sessions, according to this region. In addition, the business area of the Xunta's stand hosted 400 meetings, attended by more than 1,500 professionals, the highest number ever.

The promotion of Galicia as a destination at FITUR 2024 ended with a high level of participation, both in the professional and general public sessions, according to this region. Over the five days of the trade fair, the Galician Community showcased and promoted its new tourism products and experiences linked, among others, to the Way of St. James, nature, gastronomy and water, the theme of the Xunta de Galicia’s new institutional stand, which hosted nearly fifty presentations.

The Galicia stand was once again recognised with a prize by the trade fair organisers for its design, attention to the public and the quality of the promotional materials, making the Galician region one of the most awarded in the history of the event. In addition, among other actions, during the professional conferences, a preview of the future Tourism Strategy of Galicia 2024-2030 was given and Galicia formally took over the coordination of the ‘Green Spain’ tourism brand, taking over from the Basque Country, with the aim of working together during 2024 on joint promotion and ecotourism.

New tourism offers

The stand also presented the incorporation of new resources to the Galician tourism offer, such as visits to Tambo Island, in the province of Pontevedra; the new season of the Galicia tourist trains, and a new product '27 charming places of 2027′, which aims to diversify the Way of St. James pilgrimage in anticipation of the next Holy Year in 2027, among other things. The Galician stand hosted, in addition to the presentations, tasting sessions of gourmet products, as well as a sample of Galician music and handicrafts, in this case, created by the professionals of the Redeiras de Corme Association.

Proof of the success of the Galician stand was that much of the promotional material ran out over the weekend. In addition, the business space located within the institutional stand of the Xunta de Galicia hosted a total of 400 meetings attended by more than 1,500 industry professionals, the highest number ever. Mexico, Portugal and the United States were the main countries interested in Galicia.
