The first edition of FITUR 4all marked a significant milestone, according to Impulsa Igualdad
The first edition of FITUR 4all marked a significant milestone, according to Miguel Carrasco Hernández, director of the tourism area of Impulsa Igualdad, co-organiser of this pioneering section for the promotion of accessible tourism. "During the fair, there was growing interest from national and international destinations as well as tourism companies, demonstrating a remarkable advance towards visibility and inclusion in the tourism industry," says Carrasco.
Miguel Carrasco explains that the professional conference held on 25 January at FITUR 4all was a key space for discussing advances and trends in accessible tourism, with keynote speakers representing the tourism accessibility chain, who highlighted the importance of strengthening diversity and inclusion in the tourism offer. "The relevance of FITUR 4all was reflected not only in the figures mentioned by professionals during the conference, of seven million people in Spain and 90 million across the European Union who choose destinations based on accessibility, but also in the media coverage and the conclusions of the conference which underline the importance of FITUR 4all in the tourism panorama".
The director of Impulsa Igualdad points out that "with more than 50 applications received for the 1st edition of the FITUR 4all Awards, the winners were announced, after a difficult deliberation by the professional jury due to the quality of the candidatures, as the following: Benidorm, Colombia, Port Aventura World and the Costa Rican Accessible Tourism Network, highlighting the commitment and alignment with the objectives of inclusion in tourism in various categories".
In conclusion, he indicates that FITUR 4all has proven to be "a crucial section for the promotion of accessible tourism, generating awareness on the importance of inclusion in tourism and highlighting the business opportunities that emerge by catering to these constantly growing needs, based on tourism and leisure on equal terms as a right for all people".
