Colombia to make a firm commitment to sustainable tourism at FITUR
Colombia will be present at FITUR 2024 with a delegation of around 40 tourism companies, supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism, and accompanied by ProColombia, where it will be showcasing the best of its offer with a focus on sustainability and the development of its six tourism regions.
"Colombia, the country of beauty" is the new narrative of the Latin American country understood in its multiple dimensions, such as natural landscapes, cultural diversity, culinary wealth and the warmth of its people. A unified promotional message for a destination of authentic and transformative experiences with the capacity to attract international travellers.
The tourism industry is reaching historical heights in this country. In 2022, Colombia received 4.6 million international travellers, the best tourism year for the market, surpassing its 2019 figures by 1.7%. In this regard, Spain is the main source of tourists from Europe, and in 2022 arrivals of foreign residents in Spain to Colombia grew by 118.2% compared to 2021. The main products promoted in the market are conventions, culture, events, nature and adventure, sun and sand and incentive travel.
