Winners of the 6th FITUR Sustainable Stand Awards 2025
Sustainability is a core value of FITUR, and to acknowledge the efforts of tourism destinations and exhibiting companies that align with the SDGs, FITUR holds the Sustainable Stand Awards.
This year’s winners are Grupo Piñero, for its commitment to staff training and its comprehensive sustainability project; Castelldefels City Council, for its intelligent reuse of materials in entirely new contexts without transformation; Paradores, for developing a specific sustainability plan for FITUR 2025 aimed at achieving a carbon-neutral event; Extremadura Tourism, for its dual commitment to quantifiable material reuse and promoting accessible tourism; and B&B HOTELS, for creatively repurposing materials like fishing nets rescued from the ocean.
Additionally, the Best Stand Awards for aesthetic and presentation excellence were also presented during the third day of FITUR. In the Autonomous Communities category, Canary Islands, Cantabria, and Euskadi Basque Country emerged as winners. In the international countries and regions category, Oman Ministry of Heritage & Tourism, Dominican Republic, and Tourism Authority of Thailand were awarded. Among companies, Sandos Hotels, Iberia Líneas Aéreas Españolas, and Hesperia World received accolades.
Canary Islands, Cantabria, and Euskadi: Winners in Autonomous Communities
The stand of the Canary Islands is presented as a space where everything flows and converges, showcasing the archipelago’s natural beauty and vibrant colors through a marine-inspired light spectacle. The integration of technology, with LED screens and tubes complementing the landscape, highlights the organic essence without overshadowing it.
The Community of Cantabria is portrayed through a unique geometry replicated hundreds of times, resembling a fractal, in various sizes, colors, and textures. Rustic elements blend seamlessly with cutting-edge technology, creating an authentic and natural harmony. The hexagon serves as the central motif of this kaleidoscopic journey, reflecting the vital rhythm of nature in Cantabrian landscapes.
Euskadi Basque Country presents itself with clarity and strength. Composed almost entirely of wooden and screen-based prismatic volumes, the space exudes seriousness, depth, and architectural mastery. The design conveys an undeniably solid Euskadi while remaining accessible to visitors, drawing them into its compelling atmosphere.
Oman, Dominican Republic, and Thailand: Winners in Countries and Regions
Oman, a country steeped in tradition, showcases its contemporary side with a reinterpretation of traditional architecture. The simple, inward-facing earthen houses are transformed into immaculate, light-filled monolithic volumes featuring expansive windows. Through screens, the most captivating landscapes of Oman are displayed, offering a modern twist to its heritage.
Once again, the Dominican Republic impresses with an immersive space that delivers a rich experience to all visitors. From the Caribbean’s underwater scenery to white sandy beaches and vibrant cultural moments, the stand envelops visitors, allowing them to virtually feel the essence of the destination even from afar
Thailand captivates with a space brimming with folklore, highlighting its crafts, geography, and people in a vibrant festival of color. The use of traditional textiles, recognized as cultural heritage, creates an emotional connection that transcends the typical Thai imagery, inviting visitors to discover a deeper, more nuanced view of the country.
Iberia, Hesperia World and Sandos Hotels: Winnners in Companies category
In the 45th edition of FITUR, Iberia presents a minimalist design, full of light, with a slight futuristic touch reminiscent of a Kubrick-like aesthetic. The stand features clean surfaces and a restrained color palette, where the iconic “Iberia Red” highlights key areas. Organic cloud-like shapes inspired by their aircraft subtly float across the space, poetically setting the stage for the Iberia experience and offering a visual oasis within the pavilion.
Hesperia World, on the other hand, has opted for a fresh and playful concept that reflects its authentic spirit through geometric patterns and a retro-inspired color palette. Ceilings, lamps, curtains, furniture, and all decorative elements come together to create partitions that range from subtle to bold, crafting spaces as unique as the chain's hotels themselves.
With a touch of tasteful naivety, Sandos Hotels & Resorts brings reasons to smile with a perfectly organized space that highlights its “crown jewel.” A curtain sways gently in a Mediterranean breeze, surrounded by gardens inviting meditation. Rest, wellness, and beauty converge in Zem Wellness, exuding the luxury of self-care.
