ExpoÓptica 2024 showcases the latest breakthroughs in vision and hearing
From April 12 to April 14, organised by IFEMA MADRID, the event will be a meeting point for renowned optics, optometry, and audiology companies and a showcase for technological innovations in diagnosis and treatment. Simultaneously, Moda Óptica (Optical Fashion) will show off the latest trends for the spring-summer season. The show will also host Foro ExpoÓtica, ExpoAudio, and the OPTOM and ANA Congresses in addition to the exhibition area.
ExpoÓptica, the Iberian Peninsula's leading optics, optometry, and audiology fair, will take place from 12 to 14 April. Organised by IFEMA MADRID, it was officially opened by Juan Carlos Martínez Moral, president of the Spanish General Council of Optometrists, Arancha Priede, business director of IFEMA MADRID, and representatives of the trade fair institution.
With a growth of 30%, the 34th edition is a get-together for almost 130 benchmark optical fashion brands, manufacturers, training centres and suppliers, as well as specialised software developers and equipment for hearing and optical centres.
A showcase for the sectors’ investments in R&D+i, this trade fair is an opportunity to discover the latest technological advances for improving sight and hearing. The epitome of all this innovation is housed in the Innovation Gallery, where almost 30 new-generation products are on display.
In the Audiology sector, among other new features, there is a collection of hearing aids ranging from retro products to today's invisible options that shows how these devices have changed over the years. Among the highlights are the world’s first hearing aid that connects to Auracast transmission devices, a state-of-the-art assisted hearing technology, and an experimental product with sound tests.
In Optics, as well as the booming Moda Óptica (Optical Fashion) section with the trends that will dominate the spring-summer season by the most prestigious designers and top national and international firms. The exhibitors are showing their new integral medical examination technologies, such as state-of-the-art ortho-k lenses, commonly known as pyjama lenses, systems that use prescription lenses based on the visual axle and the eye’s centre of rotation and AI, big data and video game solutions with visual evaluation in 12 minutes. Another highlight will be spectacle frames manufactured using 3D printing.
Presentations, OPTOM Congress and ANA Congress
From Friday, 12 to Sunday, 14 April, the fair will offer a broad programme of presentations and panel discussions led by experts in optics, optometry, and audiology. At the ExpoAudio and ExpoÓptica Forums, the experts will address pertinent subjects such as marketing opticians and hearing centres, the use of Artificial Intelligence, the challenges and opportunities facing these health sciences and the vision of the sector's specialised media.
IFEMA MADRID will also host the OPTOM 2024 Congress, which will address “The evolution of the visual system in species” with keynote speeches and plenary sessions, and the Spanish Association of Hearing Aid Professionals (ANA) will also hold its Annual Congress on 13 April with the theme “Let's talk about Prosthetic Audiology”.
ExpoÓptica 2024 will be held in Hall 10 at IFEMA MADRID uninterrupted from 10:00 to 20:00 on 12 and 13 April and from 10:00 to 18:00 on 14 April.
