Daikin Europe donates one million Euro for Ukranian refugees
Daikin Europe announced in March the donation of one million Euro to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to provide humanitarian assistance to the Ukranian population and to those who are displaced as a consequence of the conflict in their country.
As a global group with operations in over 160 countries and almost 90,000 employees, Daikin believes in the importance of protecting the health and safety of its employees and their families all over the world. On behalf of the Daikin group, Daikin Europe has decided to donate one million Euro to UNHCR, which provides protection and assistance to the Ukranian people. Daikin will also donate products to house the refugees and educational facilities. Daikin Europe employees will also raise funds to support their Ukranian colleagues and their families.
Masatsugu Minaka, General Director of Daikin Industries and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Daikin Europe, issued this statement: “Daikin Europe has over 1,000 Ukranian employees who work in our two factories in the Czech Republic, and many more throughout the entire group. We are distraught due to the difficult situation in their country of origin, and we hope that it returns to a peaceful and safe situation as soon as possible. Daikin will continue to closely monitor the situation, guaranteeing the safety of our employees, in addition to cooperating with the humanitarian aid efforts.”
The Daikin organisations in Europe have suspended their business operations in Russia, in consideration of the current economic and logistics situation.
