The importance of air quality in property management
The crucial importance of air quality, ventilation and air conditioning in property management was one of the conclusions of the 2nd Indoor Air Quality Congress, organised by AFEC, ATECYR and FEDECAI.
Air quality, ventilation and climate control in property management were discussed at the 2nd Indoor Air Quality Congress, organised by the Association of Air-Conditioning Equipment Manufacturers (AFEC), the Spanish Air Conditioning and Cooling Technical Association (ATECYR) and the Federation of Indoor Environmental Quality Companies (FEDECAI).
During the event, the specialists discussed various issues, including the role of Covid-19 transmission by aerosols and how air-conditioning and ventilation systems help to prevent the spread of the virus. In addition, they focused on air quality in healthcare and educational facilities, as well as in shopping centres and homes.
Among other issues, they highlighted the need to implement a change in the ventilation systems of existing health centres to improve safety and air quality, as well as to implement a rehabilitation plan to improve the air quality of classrooms in old centres. It was also pointed out that in the design of new near-zero energy housing, it is necessary to increase the ventilation flow rate and use a controlled mechanical ventilation system to ensure good indoor air quality.
