The climate emergency and environmental goals are accelerating the energy transition, therefore it is important to be familiar with the market situation for heating and hot water production, as well as the advantages of replacing obsolete equipment. Taking as reference all of the technologies that offer efficient and economically feasible solutions for decarbonisation, FEGECA, the Association of Manufacturers of heat generators and emitters, presents its guide to "Efficient and renewable systems in construction".

FEGECA, the Association of Manufacturers of heat generators and emitters, presents its guide to "Efficient and renewable systems in construction". Within a global context characterised by the climate emergency and environmental goals that are accelerating the energy transition, it is important to be familiar with the current market situation for heating and hot water production, as well as what lies in its future and the advantages of replacing obsolete equipment.

Taking as reference all of the technologies that offer efficient and financially feasible solutions for decarbonisation, this guide was produced to present the heating and hot water production systems that are now on the market and that meet current regulations.

Practical cases are included that graphically show the improvements achieved both in annual energy consumption and in reducing emissions thanks to different actions such as replacing old generators with more efficient ones, adding thermal solar backup, mechanical ventilation for heat exchange and rehabilitation of the building’s envelope.

The guide can be downloaded at www.fegeca.com. The presentations given during the virtual conference co-organised with the Fundación de la Energía on the 2 December, where the guide was presented to the public, are also available.

This publication joins the three previous editions issued by FEGECA that were a reference point in the evolution and development of the HVAC systems technology.

We are facing an unprecedented challenge for the heating industry, and FEGECA, as Association that represents the main manufacturers of heat generators and emitters in Spain, wishes to contribute with this guide to raising awareness on the efficient and renewable systems for construction.
